MG4 Charging power 0.0kW

On mobile so unsure what version of the mg you have.

Can you schedule in the cars settings? It's under the main menu, battery then tap on the cog I believe as well as set limits if on a trophy.

It might be worth clearing or adding schedule via the car only and ignore the charger just set it up and connect and let the car do the charging?

It has the same issue no matter where I do the schedule unfortunately car or charger. I have found one thing and not sure if it makes sense to anyone. The past 2 nights I've had successful charging. The only difference I made was, I set battery preheating 30 mins before the charge started. I've tested again today without battery pre heating and I've had the 0.07 kW issue again. Anyone ever seen battery pre heating needed to charge properly? Wondering if actually it wakes up the car to allow the charge.

….. I have is a Project EV Apex charger.
I’m using a Evnex charger.
It has a setting ‘keep the car awake. During charging’. I don’t think this is necessary for all makes but is currently recommended for MG’s.
So this might vary from charger to charger 🤔

I've checked my app and it doesn't have this setting. I've called project EV who have said the setting to keep the car and charger talking whilst waiting for a charge is already enabled. I've got the car booked in with MG to check it over for software updates and also the charging company to come back out to do some checks. I feel like this must be an incompatibility between the charger I have and the car I have as it works fine on a granny charger when scheduled on the car and also from another 7kW charger I've tested on.

Have you tried a full disconnection and reset of your wall charge point ? I suspect it's that or some settings on it or just incompatability as you say, as the car charges and schedules OK on other chargers.

Project EV came out and swapped the charger out for a brand new one which has the same issue. I really feel like its an incompatibility between the two. I guess I'll not know any more until the car has been in to MG. Any other tips from people are always welcome though as its a massive pain

I think you're the first person here to confirm having 1300R63. Anything obvious about it? (Good or Bad)

I have a charger that look suspiciously like a projectEV unit (vchrgd7). I once had a problem with scheduled charging. Long and short of it, I isolated it to powerline networking kit in my house. There is a thread somewhere on here where I posted.

I removed ALL powerline networking kit and voila problem gone. Not saying it is you issue but worth a mention.

Seems decent so far. The only downside I've found is I only seem to be able to change the charge % from the app and not the car anymore but not too much of an issue. Other than that it's all good

Thanks mate. The firmware updates sorted this out for me

Something in my memory says you have to slide the %age charge bar in the car rather than tapping the screen. Have you tried that?
