MG4 EV - what's your favourite colour? Vote in the poll.

I suspect the identity crisis is in us drivers. Scratch any elderly driver with dodgy joints and a calm nature and you will find a boy racer underneath pining for days or yore

I am actually hoping entering into the MG4 would be similar to that of ID3, it’s a little higher and easier to sit in without bending my knee too much!
I’m not that old BTW, 58?

If you look at the spectrum of colours on offer, you can sort of see why a trend in certain colours has occurred.

• If price is your primary factor, you'll go with white or blue as they're free.
• Because there are only 2 colours with the premium paint, black and grey, a lot will go with the grey because otherwise the car is totally black inside and out. Also the black obliterates any of the design of the exterior as it's difficult to see.
• And if you want the best paint, with the extra finish, then that's red or orange. But with the orange having been used for most promotional material, and it shows off the car to its best, it's a clear winner.

Those of a certain age, or indeed those that just want a car to drive and not a 'look at me' car, will err towards the white, grey, and red colours.

Being on the other side of 50, I went with grey as my first choice (and vote). My backup choice was red.

It's nice to go with a new colour on a new car. Creates more of an experience and special occasion feel when you get to pick up your new car!

It also helps the MG marketing team know they got a good enough range of colours for customer choice, and people can and are going with colours they want for different reasons to ones they'd perhaps thought of.

That's why I was torn between the ZS and the MG4. Climbing up is a little easier than down into a car when you have 'creaky knee' - my left knee gave out years ago and I had to switch to an auto to avoid clutches. Got you beat by 12 yrs b.t.w.

I've just reserved a Trophy in Metallic Black Pearl. Probs be the only MG 4 EV Trophy in Black on the road with the popularity of the other colours! Wax on Wax off so it needs a clean more often, no biggy!

The Trophy will have some seriously Taycanesque residuals in 2-3 years!

I'm going with orange for one reason and one reason only (having been offered one of my dealer's initial batch in red, black or white). That reason is I want a quiet life, and my wife has said "Thou shalt have orange or experience my wrath", or words to that effect. I have a thumbprint on the top of my head!

Yep, when I passed my test first time aged 17 my Dad said he would buy me my first new car - I asked for a racing green MG Midget, I got the 120y Sunny! The argument that only motorbikes were dangerous didn't work out (NB they were both about £2k at the time)

I pre-ordered a blue Trophy, but my dealer (Gallaghers of Sandycroft) is maintaining radio silence

My dealer told me they have 6 dealerships(Stoneacre), only one Grey in the whole group. Seems to me other dealerships must have put their orders in earlier than mine!

Your dealer is doing better than mine - I just called them, and was told MG haven't even allocated their demo car yet.
In slightly better news, I now have an order number to wave around!

My dealer told me they have 6 coming, pretty sure they said it was 8 before. Anyway, they are only allowed to sell 4, so they’ve been ringing all the pre order customers to match up their orders, the two left will be their demo and showroom model.

Just had contact from my dealership, Confirmed they have a Trophy in Orange coming in this month and has been allocated to me.

So happy with that.

The other three he got was 2 x SE SR and 1 x SE LR (which will be taxed for the Demo).

Are the bumpers and details including side sills grey or black in colour? I ordered black pearl but this will look awkward with grey side sills and details hmm... Thoughts?

Looking at various reviews, plus the colour as shown on the website, they are not completely black. There is definitely some sort of tint or colour towards the grey/charcoal end of the black spectrum.
