what am I looking for?

A new plate bolted underneath?
Well, that bracket. I don't believe that they replace the actual tray; it doesn't seem to be necessary.

Apparently some 2024 models don't have a bulge, but develop it after a few months.

ok thanks!

Also I enquired about the undertray issue and was told that the earlier models had this issue and the MY24 doesn't have it? It this BS from the dealer?
Mine's waiting for the part to come ex-east to fix a bulging undertray so that is absolutely incorrect from your dealer. My dealer said it seems to affect some cars and not others so they suspect a batch of trays that somehow warp, but who knows how big that batch is…

Yeah the website has changed - they used to list the prices for the services.
I just had a look at the revised web site. The original 2 year service was capped at AU$298.00 296.00 & the 4 year service was a staggering $948.00 $907 (I think). They also listed all the work that was to be done. Most were just checks. The 4 year service was the same with just additions for replacing transmission fluid, brake fluid, battery coolant & some other minor things like checking HV battery connections & links.

I listed all this in a post somewhere. I'll post a link when I find it.

The undertray fix is pretty common. I had mine done a year ago now & was one of the first to have it done. The dealer didn't even know about the fix until they checked after I gave them the MG bulletin number. It took them all of about 10 minutes to install.

Here is the list of stuff from the original website. The prices were $296.00 2 year & $907 4 year services

That is a great pic, thanks I will take it with me to see them tomorrow.

So we are left in the dark with new service pricing ?

Hi MG owners I needed some floor mats for my MG4 I purchased from Supercheap Auto, front and rear on special for a Tesla model Y 2019-23 ev and for $50 they fit really nice one piece rear and apparently look good quality.

Looks like it. There is not much point in asking now if the service is not due for 2 years. When mine is due I'll ask for the price and written details of the service schedule & see if it matches what they originally published.
Mine's due September so will be interested in what you learn.

Scenario:

Which one would you pick?

A Jan 2024 built new MG4 77 for $44,500 with 10 year warranty - 10 years remaining

or

A June 2023 built demo MG4 77 1900 kms for $39,000 with a 7 year warrany - 5.5 years remaining ?

Hmmmmm.... Tricky.

We have a July 23 "77" and it's just great, albeit we bought it "new" during the October sales and so it came with the 10 year warranty.

We also have a February 24 build "51" bought a bit later in the same sales.

I haven't found any material difference in the software except for the "Essence" vs "Excite" by design differences.

I suppose I'd pay the extra for the 10 year warranty but don't forget that the 10 years only applies to a limited set of items, not everything.

Yes hard decision I will most likely go with the older one as in 5 years time the tech would be so different to now.

Hard question indeed. I guess you should ask yourself how long you expect to keep the car. And will any remaining warranty add value when it comes time to sell again?

Yes well I just put a $1000 deposit for the demo MG4 77 - built it July 2023, driveaway price $38,888 in QLD.

Looks like the original software.
Dealer said they will update software to latest and fix under tray as I could see small gap underneath tray.

Wow, just looking at the total price I paid for my current Hyundai October 2018 Ioniq 28kwh battery I purchased as a demo back in April 2020 for AU$37,870 driveaway. ($47k driveaway brand new.)

Had 1910 km when purchased and now 82,500 km.

5 years later I get a car with a 77 kWh battery for $38,888 driveaway ($52,000 driveaway brand new).

So dollar per kWh from $1,352 / kWh to $505 per kwh - that is technology for you.

In good news for Australian MG4 owners, I’ve had detailed discussions with MG Australia and they have told me about some updates they are working on including LKA. I’ve detailed what they told me in the link below. That article will update during 2025.

I’m hoping to get early access to release candidates for these 2025 software updates on my MG4 77 so I can tell you if they improve the driving and ownership experience. MG Australia has not confirmed whether that is possible.

I have previously covered Australian MG4: 2023/2024 software update improvements. Make sure your car gets all of those at your next regularly scheduled update.

A reminder to Australian MG4 owners this car cannot receive over the air (OTA) updates via its SIM card. Updates have to be done by an MG dealer manually and they often take quite a few hours.
