MG4 Restricted speed - weird

Never got the turtle and power limiter on my display.
But, technically, that’s your dealer’s one chance to fix it and they’ve fluffed it.
You are not perfectly able to reject, if you want.
Don’t suppose you got a video…?
Yeah true, they have had three chances with sorting out my creased seats from day 1. Still not fixed.
sorry no video. I was on my own and was been positive about it working. ☹️

Not sure I’d bother mentioning those, if you were thinking of it.
Stick to the most serious and current problem.
In itself it’s more than sufficient to reject.

EDIT
I think if I were you I’d document what happened on an email to the garage.
I had an encyclopaedia of emails between me and the dealer, there was almost no verbal comms (which helped me)

See my edit.
Document todays events on email and email them on Friday for an update.
Avoid verbal comms if you can.
I have an email trail of all the defects/issues with dates and day count from when I picked it up. So they are fully aware of me documenting these problems.
I will email them as you say with this latest update.
like to have traceability for future reference.

This is unbelievable. Updating software then not testing the car (apart from driving around the dealership…) to see if it’s fixed! Wow! WTF are they doing? I really struggle with this stuff and how customers are treated. Many people are spending their hard earned money and getting so much stress and hassle.
Rejection is the right action but it takes time and is further hassle - but it has to be done.

Had the car in yesterday for the power loss fault. I was told it’s been fixed with the latest software updates. The tech he had seen this before and the update fixed it. I asked if he has test driven it and he said around the dealership. I wasn’t feeling any good vibes when he said that as the issue is worse when you drive over 30 MPH.
I took the car and went straight onto the A19. On a slip road I reached 36 MPH and put my foot down to join the A19. Nothing there. It eventually crept upto 56 MPH. The turtle symbol appears now bottom right of the drivers screen and a prompt saying Power Limiter but never had time to read it fully. So I managed to limp back to the dealership. Now they’re contacting MG for further advice. Back to the MG5 loaner. Not happy.
Hmm, this is interesting. Mine is booked in with MG Beaconsfield, mid-may, to be looked at. As with @bowfer , mine never has a turtle symbol. Wondering if these are the same issues or something slightly different

Mid-May???

Same issue, but the update gives you graphics that take the p….
Mid-May???
The tech also asked if had been using rapid chargers, which I have on a few occasions, he believes this has caused issues with the power and the software update should have rectified this.
after using rapid chargers I didn’t have any power loss at all. It was days later I had these issues. so maybe a few issues here not related.

They asked me the same, but zero rapid charges for me

Sounds like they are clutching at straws here, I definitely wouldn't be waiting till mid may for a potentially dangerous fault to be looked at

Mid-May for restricted speed is bad.
Maybe kick off a bit, lay it on thick that it’s a safety issue.

God how I’d love to know how many 4’s have reported this problem worldwide…

Big shot in the dark that anyone else has experienced this, but worth a go.
My drive home involves a short blast up a dual carriageway from a set of lights, bit of a Grand Prix to be honest.
Twice now I’ve floored the car up it and it’s resolutely refused to do more than 71-75mph.
It’s not a power thing, my Leaf with less power would do a lot more.
But, foot to the floor, 71mph (ish) !?!?
I also noticed that when I pulled off the main dual carriageway onto a slip road, it started accelerating again….
Naturally I suspected I’d inadvertently triggered some speed limiter thing, but I checked that and it was fine.
Cruise is off too.
Very weird….
I put my foot to the floor the other day, and the floor mat went over the accelerator, very scary

I was unlinked (de-linked?) from the MG app several weeks ago, but have received texts today from god-knows-who
They’re obviously doing something on my old car.
Maybe some poor sod is taking SP72 ZXA on ?

+46 is phone from Sweden ?
That's where MG's server/mobile connection is based. (It was only when it was moved to there that I was able to register my mobile number with the app).

Is your driver's mat hooked into the floor clips? If yes then that shouldn't happen.

Small update: I received the "SC47" update that improves something with the brake energy recovery. Since that update I have a very good and realistic energy consumption (before: 1.5 km per percent, after: 3 km per percent) and no more power reduction. I tested it with 13 % SoC @ 2 °C and got up to 96 % power in the display. Hooray!
