Seen reports today of an ID4 locking the rear doors of the car due to a child lock electronics fault, not ideal if you have little ones in the back, so it's not just a MG issue.

I am basing my answer on what was said here before and on other sites some time back on the same technology from third party suppliers being used for MG4's and other EV's and also ICE vehicles. I have heard of Teslas having tech issues similar to MG4's and there may be other EV's with issues, but have not heard of ICE Toyota's, Nissan's, Mitsubishis, Hyundai's, Kia's, Ford's whatever having the SAME issue with the same sourced tech that is applied to the MG4.What other car brands use the same make and type of technology as MG and don’t have issues?
Are you saying that you have adjusted the headlights using the screws under the bonnet and they are still not high enough?Update after visit 1
No evidence of oil leak
- Oil leak - I did see some patches but its been so wet and mushy its hard to say for sure if i have it, i hope i do so they install the mod
Replacement ordered
- Under tray bulge - logged on pickup of the car so should be simple
Replacement ordered
- Drivers door button to unluck the car doesnt work anymore
They say it’s on the latest version
- Software update for the recall and the Lane Kill Assist hopefully
They said it could be the under tray. I didn’t show them the video I made sadly
- Wind noise from the drivers side only at ~40mph and above
Missed from check
- Light beam/reach in darkness - Even at the furthest setting the reach of the headlight is dangerously short. Auto Full beam is ok if a bit twitchty but even following a car at a safe distance there is a void of light. I wonder if this would pass an MOT light test in current form?
Issue logged with MG
- Noisy AC compressor
It’s going back for the replacement parts so will ask again about the wind noise and the headlight beam
No. I asked the garage to do it with the MOT testing device for thatAre you saying that you have adjusted the headlights using the screws under the bonnet and they are still not high enough?
Ok, I wonder if they did. You can do it yourself if you have a drive with wall/garage and enough space, there are various guides on t'internet.No. I asked the garage to do it with the MOT testing device for that
All they'll do is check it's not dazzling other motorists not adjust it for distance.No. I asked the garage to do it with the MOT testing device for that
The beam is too short. I’ve never driven a car like that before. All they'll do is check it's not dazzling other motorists not adjust it for distance.
In all the cases I have heard of so far, it is because they are not adjusted right. There are two screws under the bonnet, one for each light and adjusting them is easy. The beam is too short. I’ve never driven a car like that before.
Yes. Mine had to be adjusted by the dealer, too. It was delivered with the main beams projecting directly on the floor in front of the car. Now, after correct alignment, the lights (both dipped and main beams) are excellent. In all the cases I have heard of so far, it is because they are not adjusted right. It really stretches the term 'nothing's perfect' to the limit. ?Not the most stellar performance.![]()
