Goth Leo got his software update today. I had phoned the dealer, Dicksons in Inverness, a while back to ask about a series of faults, like the Autohold one, and various others, none of which are unusual for members of the forum, and none of which were serious. All cleared after a locking the car for a while. But I still wanted the issues logged. They said there had been a "recall" for the software update, so Goth Leo was booked in.
Leah at Dickson's service desk was very helpful and efficient, and said they would probably run diagnostics on the errors, which she had noted from the previous phone call.
I did phone in to them as I received two emails during the day from SAIC, one saying that the airbag had triggered an alarm and the other saying the brake system had triggered an alarm, which I took to be part of the update or the diags., but thought I'd better let them know. Intriguing that the car reports in like that, and that SAIC alerts the owners.
But they did run the diags, which I thought was thorough, and as expected, had nothing to report. Leah couldn't say, but we chatted about the possibility of the updates dealing with these occasional spurious messages.
I haven't checked anything fully yet, and asked if there were any differences I would notice. I was told no, and the 2.5 hour trip back home was as expected.
I hope this augurs well for the future, as so far our experience of Dicksons has been pretty positive. We chatted about the long trip in, and Leah even said "Oh, we'll put it on charge once the work is done." They did, but I was nearby when they phoned to collect the car, so not a lot of charge went in. Nice thought, though.
