MG4 Software Update Thread

Got update to 59. Trophy first gen.

FIXES:
LKA can be disabled from the pull down menu
Phone contacts with "+" prefixes are now correctly imported.
Navigator now displays EV charger POIs around current position when selected.
New EV route planner menu

CONS:
No network... 4G shows full signal strength but hotspot does not provide internet. At home, with wifi connection, it cannot even check for new versions (no network error).
Pull down settings or air do not work when in Android Auto

How can they release versoons with such evident bugs? It's like the iSmart stupidity with the seat heaters!
Didn't I mention somewhere else that MG does not do any user testing at all...??

But the ev router planning menu is nice... if the maps are up to date.

Did you already test LKA modes and ACC?

ACC will be updated in two weeks (my version is one touch=5mph and no mode switch with a long pressure on the wheel button). Initially they said I was on the last version. I insisted to check the version in the car itself instead of the electronic logbook, as one touch goes 5mph whereas the latest version gives 1mph per touch.

They checked and confirmed there was indeed an update pending but it is a risky update, and prefer to do it during the week so that they may receive support from HQ if something goes wrong. I told them I will run the risk of doing it during weekend... (1st June).

Oh I forgot, another fix are the DAB logos (only for BBC channels, though). First time ever I see them.

@BobbyBrown was very kind to share the files with me

I have them on my google drive and can share a link to them for anyone who is interested but use them at your own risk! As I mentioned before, you could completely brick your car
Could I have a linky to the r46 download please?

Blank fat 32 formatted usb pen?

It's protected by a system (private-public keys + signing).
To my mind, the unique interesting point is to analyse source code to find tricks, easter eggs or understands bugs.
I hope that it's impossible to deploy a hacked version on my car.

dns resolution not working according to someone on FB - hotspot is working and if you manually set a public DNS address (eg. 8.8.8.8) in the device that is connected to the hotspot it will work

I am trying to find how to upload POIs, DAB logos and user manuals. Pretty sure those won't need to be signed

Correct. I can confirm it.
Set up IPs static on the phone and Hotspot connection is working again

For the manuals: it looks at a folder called 'manual' on the USB.

For the Trophy you need to give it PDF files, for the SE it's HTML files.
There's a specific naming structure you need to use to make sure it finds the first file but i'm not at home to check it at the moment.

I had the R59 update yesterday but don't appear to have the DAB logos for any stations. Good to see the LKA disable option appear in the pull down screen.

Edit... DAB logos have appeared this afternoon but only for the BBC radio stations.

New ev route menu...

When opening mine it shows me as being in Germany. If I open the search and select EV chargers it lists closest ones to Munich!

Anyone got the same issue? Know how to fix?

Appears to be working today so suspect it must have been an issue with the onboard SIM data connection

I had my trophy lr in for some niggles on Tuesday, and it was updated to R59. The LKA is now on the top left drop down, but the 1mph step for acc isn't there. On Friday I had a call from dealer telling me another update had been released last night (thursday), so it's going back in on Tuesday. Any ideas if anything past R59 has been released?

I had mine updated a couple weeks ago and they said they had the next version on their system, but hadn’t been released yet, so it’s definitely likely

iSmart won't connect to my car at the moment. The problem seems to be the data comms between the car and MG's servers. (I tried the manual Update mechanism in the car and it gave a message about failing to connect - normally it says that there are no updates or something like that).
