Ran the R63 update from here yesterday.
The car claimed it was successfully installed, but also claims to still be on R24!

A quick check of the HVAC screen would confirm.

No, I'm not.
Do I need SIPS to do that?
FWIW - The car insisted on being in "READY" mode to run the update.

You actually need to upgrade both the MPU (AVN MPU) and the MCU (which is labeled as Multimedia ECU) in the engineering menu. MG’s terminology can be a bit confusing at times.

thanks a lot for the upgrade info. following the instrucion I could upgrade from R30 to R63 , Luxury23 , but I could upgrade only the AVN MPU about MCU got error (wrong format or does not find data). but the USB and the file structure is the same used to upgrade MPU few minutes before, sounds strange?

you can use the R59 archive. Both R59 and R63 actually contain the same MCU files.

I've been using R63 for a few weeks now and it's very good. Bluetooth never disconnects (I never updated the TBOX) and I don't have the pairing problem (but in reality it was already solved for me in R59), but I have some doubts that it's due to the fact that I changed phone from Samsung to Xiaomi, and the car prefers China over Korea. However, the fact that the percentage of charge is no longer selectable is due to what in your opinion?

Just back from the dealers in a loan MG4 because they couldn't get my car to update to the right version again! It updates, presumably via SIPS, but doesn't load on the expected version. They won't tell me what exactly it does load only the FICM version isn't right (although FICM MPU/MCU look like a valid combination to me), they are waiting for a response from MG

My saga continues, subsequent updates have failed to work so they are going to have to send the screen off to MG for reflashing/replacement - could be up to 2 weeks! Absolutely bizarre as they successfully updated it at service and all was working well, but they insist it is the wrong version

I've decided to take my 23 plate phase 1 trophy back to the dealer for further attempts to get my annoyances fixed - Bluetooth pairing requests, HVAC with a mind if it's own (sometimes 25 is roasting hot and sometimes it's freezing, even during the same journey), auto lights which activate when passing through the shadow of a tree (slight exaggeration perhaps...).

I will mention the AAC's nervous behaviour as well as LKA having a prefence for ditches on back roads though I doubt much can be done about it.

My trophy started life with R30. Had a brief encounter with R33 and has lived on R46 for about 6 months. I'm hoping R63 and some other updates can be applied to improve the experience.

Hi, last week I started with my first Xpower new car, but it's no coming activated and the infotainment system says R30 version, but I can't find the codeand do a change to passenger mode. How can you access from R30?

I already tried 200519, #*#... combinations and 1234@ABCd , but not working.

merci beaucoup pour les informations de mise à niveau. en suivant les instructions, j'ai pu passer de R30 à R63, Luxury23, mais je n'ai pu mettre à niveau que le MPU AVN à propos du MCU qui a reçu une erreur (mauvais format ou ne trouve pas de données). mais l'USB et la structure du fichier sont les mêmes que ceux utilisés pour mettre à niveau le MPU quelques minutes auparavant, cela semble étrange ?

Did you succeed? Because I have the same problem.
