No version does this as it is a requirement of NCAP that it enables every time at start up. Only a very few early cars did this (in error!) as did mine but it was removed very quickly.

Thanks does anyone know the best settings to mitigate this? We live in a rural area and it’s a real pain

It only works above 60kmh. Below that it will not hurt you. Above that, set it's sensitivity to low (it will stay there) and do not bother. It has been tuned down to a level it will not hurt. Unless the beeps freak you out.... Then go to the pull down menu and disable it.

SC077 and Low sensitivity setting is the way forward. I got the update at the start of thr week and although LKA is not perfect, I don't think any car ever will be, it's a huge improvement and I no longer need to disable it on every trip.

Getting your dealer to install it can be a whole other problem though, but it's 100% worth the effort as the car is massively improved by it.

Hi @swedeovich if you're anywhere near Diss I can recommend Desira MG of Diss, mines booked in there for the rear undertray modification and they said they will do the recall update SC077 at the same time, without me even asking about it. Very reasonable service prices too.

I have tried this version (SWI131-29958-1100R27) on my EU-spec SE. It’s on par with the European SWI69-29958-1100R38, and far better than R05 in any case!!!!

The main differences are that R38 doesn’t provide support for the rear camera, while R27 doesn’t have 3D sound (if I remember correctly).

I just tried R27 on one of my excite 51's install was fine, and love the overlay on AA, but sadly no rear camera, so I've rolled back to R05 for now.

Still waiting for the new software update for the 2025 MG4 SE. It will finally allow the One-Pedal mode to be permanently set, along with other improvements.

Do you mean this an update different then R38/R63 (and associated latest module updates)?

Yes. The new MGs registered in 2025 are different from the previous ones. For example, the headliner is light-colored, and the SE now has a rearview camera. The RXX versions will also be different.

I’m referring to EU models, don’t know if there are differences in the UK.

From what they told me its a dealer-only update at the moment.

Think you are right...my car is going back to have a small dent repaired , that was missed on th pdi ,and service guy said when it's back they will do the new system update. Not going back until 19th march...so I will know more then

I have SE LR with installed rear camera and it works with R38.

I'll never have another MG4 Trophy. Never. Everytime I get into the car I have to turn a few things in the menu OFF and a couple ON. Lane assist, Front Collision, Street Sign Recognition, I like these to be turned OFF as I drive the car, Not the software. I wish that you could save the settings that you turn off and on, would make life so much easier. Next year I'll go back to Tesla or BMW - they are just so much easier. I'll never touch an MG4 again. Guess nostalgia got me at the dealership as I did own 2 MGBGT's in the 70's & 80's. Nice site and lot's of information, sorry for the rant...

If you go for a newer Tesla or BMW (i.e. one type-approved from 2022 onwards) then be prepared to be having to turn off/on various things anyway. These are the "fault" of the regulations, not the car manufacturers. Having the option for driver profiles can help ... but then again you'll be paying waaaay more for that Tesla or BMW than you did for your MG4.

The SC077 update vastly improves LKA (and TJA as it happens), such that I never bother turning off LKA now and have started to default to TJA rather than just ACC.
