MG4 Trophy map update – BEWARE

Which version did this give you? I did this (well, different link) several days ago and it gave me 2023Q4. So it’s still at least 2 x quarters out of date. Not sure how often they issue updates.

I think that based on everything else about updates Q4 2023 isn't bad! I'm hoping we get annual updates at the least but even that could be over confident.....

Thanks I updated map data without problems. But I see some issues on the map - incorrect street name. Where can I send feedback to MG service to fix the street name?

This could be a little cynical but based on them not sorting out potentially serious driver safety issues, I don't hold out much hope of them responding to any map feedback.
But.... it might be worth working out where they get their map data and feeding back to the source somehow i.e.: whoever produces the Ukrainian maps for them.
You can of course contact SAIC or MG directly and they might respond - MG Motor Ukraine

Thank you, I found MG4 uses map data from HERE provider. I will write to HERE support (they have feedback web page) and will wait for the next map data update.

Use Google maps. It's easy to report errors, or even in some cases fix them yourself (it depends how "major" the edited feature is deemed). The changes are usually implemented fairly quickly.

I regularly get out of date speed limits changed, they had the routing through our local motorway junction wrong, that was fixed etc.

And here we go, Trophy 77ER and R46. Tbh, I don't see any difference from previous 22Q3.

For my Phase 2 Trophy LR with R59... I go to the site https://iov-mapmg.soimt.com/#/downloadMap and enter VIN and ignore the Fingerprint field then I press Next and get the message:
"Invalid VIN". What am I doing wrong?

Fixed it. The MG document that I copied the CIN from used the letter "O" rather than 0.

Apologies if this is basic, but my first attempt at a map upgrade. If relevant, I have R59. I have got as far as the update process seemingly recognising my USB. I now have a message: "Loading resource files from USB". Been there for 20 minutes as I type. Normal? Should I simply keep waiting?

The time may differ depending on the chip of the pendrive. For example I have a Philips 32GB pendrive that is slow as hell, while a Sandisk is much faster. It is not so much a question of writing/reading speed but of sequential reading of small files

In your situation i would change pendrive, 20 minutes are too much, usually is not more than 5

Thanks. I will try another drive.

Mine took about 25 minutes to update, I would have left it a bit longer.

My Trophy is on R33 and I updated the maps in April this year. It took 40 minutes and, at times, I wondered if it was not working. Persevere I would say

(My post on page 5 #100 if this thread.)

Thanks for the various suggestions. I did change pen drive and that certainly speeded up things. All seemed to go swimmingly until, after the final validation, I got a map update failed and please try again message. Gggrrr - but not today, methinks!

An update on my update. I thought I would look at the “About” info and that says I have 23Q4 installed! Weird, but I suppose I should be happy with the result, if not the software and the error messages.
