MG4 Undertray dip/bulge

But there is one common factor: SAIC.
What is the reason that a company decides to keep important improvements away from its customers?
Cost? It's what everything usually comes down to.
You'd think a minor redesign would've been incorporated by now rather than keep shipping out a flawed design. ?

Come on, this isn't believable, because the opening faces forward it's going to constantly accumulate muck and water and so on from the road surface when you drive, plus the drag when driving is going to eventually cause the bolts or material to fail and then you'll be driving around with the undertray hanging off.
On the other hand it could be viewed that the gap allows some air flow that aids cooling of the motor.

Yes, check this thread: MG4 Undertray Gap - MG Fix inbound?

There is an official MG Brace that pretty much sorts this problem. Does the UK not have access to this? (Had my brace ordered and put on soon after purchase in Aus)
This is an MG Australia innovation and not available in the UK. There's no relationship between the distributors in different countries, only whatever SAIC choose to make available globally.

Tom that is probably true but if it’s working that would be easy to copy my wife’s 4 SE was fitted with a brand new undertray several months back now and it was as bad if not worse than the original one that came with the car

I'm sure someone here (@Rolfe?) said that their dealer had advised that this fix was now available in the UK. I've emailed as such to my dealer but am awaiting a reply.

It would be dead easy to make. The bar is made from some type of HD plastic about 5mm thick with 3 holes drilled in it & 3 M6 or thereabouts longer bolts and washers holding it on. Mine was installed in January & took the dealer less than 10 minutes.
Aren't the bolts placed in existing holes?
