Does anyone know what the latest software version is please, and are there any separate module updates?
When the dealer supplying mine contacts me i will also check this is what the car has.

mine was delivered with R40 in June but I am sure that someone mentioned the latest is r50

Pretty sure it's R59 for the X Power. Someone will confirm that. ??

Yep R59 is the current latest software. In terms of other modules, sadly we can't see these but depending on manufacture date, many may need updating (eg there was a big update released in May this year to improve LKA, AEB & ACC).

Sadly most dealers will not update everything to the latest version as MG withdrew paying dealers to do this last year at PDI (confirmed by my purchasing dealer) so you have to flag issues with the car to the dealer so that they can claim warranty time to do the updates (the infotainment only takes a few minutes but the other modules, updated via ODB2 port, can take many hours).

Just another example of poorly MG UK treat their dealers and ultimately us, the customer. It's no wonder so many dealers are dropping the MG franchise.

People on here can tell you what to check for with the updates, such as an LKA icon appearing in the drop down menu, ACC increasing by 1mph at a time with a single quick push up of the stalk. I think @Bricktop will have more knowledge on this as he has had the updates done ?

Other things to do/check from memory are :-

1. Check undertray bulge
2. Check bonnet insulation is present
3. Check both keys work and both have the manual key tucked inside the fob.
4. Check all windows operate OK independently
5. Check keyless works on both driver and passenger door.
6. Check correct charger cable is in boot (not sure if this changed from Granny 3-pin to Type 2 recently?)
7. Check the reg plates are straight and display correct reg front and back !
8 Check VIN number matches order form etc.
9, Get salesman to pair phone and car to the MG Smart App
10. Mine did not come with locking wheel nuts ... salesman said they don't ?

I tried the 'update it all before we pay' route when we purchased ours in March - was assured this had been done but unfortunately aside from the infotainment, it is not possible to check if all the other modules have been updated.

Once ours broke-down (after 300 miles) and was back in the dealers workshop, the master tech informed me that nothing had been updated and several modules had significant updates, which he then applied.

Yes the R59 has the LKA 'off' button in the drop down menu but the BCM requires updating to have the ACC increasing by 1 mph. This 'should' be done, together with several other module updates, as part of the complete R59 install, according to the Hendy master tech, although he had had a car in recently from another dealer for warranty work that had R59 installed without the module updates.....

SE models must be really competitive now, not sure as not looked but currently you can source an X Power for around or under SE RRP.

Yeh, but when you got yours, that was the price. You wanted one, so you got it.
They where always going to come down. But how long do you wait? ?
Got mine for a great price, but next week/month, they could be cheaper still.
Like i said, how long do you wait, hoping it comes down even more.
You've had yours a year now, and bloody enjoyed it. ??

I paid what I thought was still unbelievable value to be first, and was.

All quiet with mine, not heard from the broker all week so God knows whats going on with it.?
