Are you the first owner? If not maybe somebody else has the car bound to their account and you need to do an unbind process.Literally have to sign in every time, never shows data and always says remote execution instruction failed.
Yep, cars only 4 months old and I’m 1st registered keeper. Are you the first owner? If not maybe somebody else has the car bound to their account and you need to do an unbind process.
Just does absolutely nothing for me on iPhone 15. Have deleted and reinstalled numerous times. ?Works ok for me on iPhone 12. Yes, have to refresh more than you'd like and requires phone GPS to be active to see where the car is, and there's always just a few more controls you wish for it to have but generally does what it needs to...
Wished I could get something from it. I’ve even reported issue to MG but to no avail.I have a Samsung S24 Ultra and always have to refresh multiple times to get any info, minimum 2. When I left the car charging at a hotel I couldn't connect to it for hours, then suddenly it started again.
Honestly it does some good things, much more than our ID4, but the app is pants connectivity wise.
The needing to log in every time is unheard of I believe. A few people get token expired now and then so have to login again but the login is always remembered for most of us.Yep, cars only 4 months old and I’m 1st registered keeper.
I’ve deleted the app and restarted from scratch again this morning. Up until a week ago I could see charging and heat car etc, past week I’ve had to login in every time I use the app and now literally nothing works. So frustrating ?I use the app regularly, mainly to check that I've locked the car and check on charging progress.
A few times over 18 months I've been asked for my password when it shows token expired but otherwise it usually connects.
My process is to carry out a status scan first, retrying a couple of times if necessary than go back to the MG page which is then populated.
Another technique is to unlock/lock the car if the status method fails. Obviously only when you are near to the car.
I wished I could. My hubby is very techy, even he can’t work out what’s going on!It's certainly far from perfect but I do use it quite a bit, start/stop charging, turn on A/C for dogs while I pop into the shops on a warm day, preheat car on cold mornings.
Thank you, but car is used daily. Hopefully they’ll spend some money on the app soon ?One thing to remember is that if you don't use your car for a few days then it seems to go into a "deep sleep" and cannot be contacted, so you need to unlock it to get it going again.
I’m having to log in every time, even with face recognition. have an iPhone 15 pro and we’ve also tried an iPhone 12 and it’s failing on both, so I’m thinking more of a technical thing. Will try data permissions. Thanks. The needing to log in every time is unheard of I believe. Do you have an old phone or family member who's phone you can borrow? If trying on that works then uninstalling and reinstalling on yours would be the next step. Note swapping phones will always require you to log in.
If it doesn't work then maybe a setting in the car - perhaps remove and re-add data permissions. Other than that something to do with your account or the binding of the car to your account? Hopefully someone who has done the binding more recently than me can advise on potential issues in this area.
Hundreds of people on here with the same problem. It's a waste of space I never use it any more. Having said that I'm taking car in for software update next week. Make sure yours has had it done.Does anyone else use the MGismart app. It’s so frustrating!!! Literally have to sign in every time, never shows data and always says remote execution instruction failed. Why have an app if it is totally useless.
