New MG4 Shipment?

Grand Pearl is a vehicle carrier used by MG - not sure what is on it of course - but it landed early hour of today at Portbury docks. It may or may not be relevant ....

how long does it normally take from Portbury to dealer?
It depends on how long the PDI takes at the port, during which they update the software so MG don't have to pay the dealers to do it. Then it has to be booked onto a transporter for delivery to your dealer. It will sit in their yard until they have time to do their own inspection and valet the car ready for the customer to collect.
Could be 4 to 6 weeks from when the ship docks.

Thank you all, we have MG5 on order that was 'at sea' and the latest delivery date we've been given is 14th September so that all sounds possible, fingers crossed.

I've been told October/November, and had read elsewhere that there would be a second batch of a 1000 at around that time. Don't know if the SE in that group will include tinted windows as the first batch appears to have.

Fifty quid says they still have the bulging undertray!

I picked up my MG4 a week ago on Friday and it had the undertray bulge. Both the dealer and MG Customer Support have said that it's not an issue that they will fix under warranty, that it's just a quirk of the vehicle. Not entirely satisfied but I have the vehicle on PCP so at least with the email from MG I have something to protect the dealer from using it to reduce my GMV at the end of 4 years.

So in summary, yes expect them to have an undertray bulge, but don't expect them to fix it.

Brilliant news. I ordered on 4th June and was given an estimated delivery date of 15th September. I just heard back from the dealer that they expect the car at their dealership on 20th August (I assume it’s in the docks) and if I would require the car in August or September yayyyyyyyyyyyy

Yes that is great news! Ahead of schedule too! I've not heard as yet, but my estimated time was end of August or start of September, so I'm hoping mine will turn up soon now. :)

I have said to I would like it as soon as I can. I’m not bothered about having a 73 plate in September as it’s a salary sacrifice car anyway

Finally got my my22 white trophy yesterday that I ordered last november. It came with r30 software installed, is there any major bug fixes in r33/r46 that make it worth while me pushing for an update?

Edit: also mine came with mats, granny charger and what appears to be a 3 phase type 2 cable
