Radio

Dealers! But you'd think a car radio would be something MG could manage.

I generally only listen to one station (Radio 3) but I have found others more or less by accident and they played too, so you may have found a unique bug that's all your own.

Mine keeps losing the DAB stations temporarily. I initially thought it was when I travelled out of the area of the local stations, but it happened today at home where I had programmed my favourite station in previously. On the radios screen, favourites list, the station is listed as unavailable.
Dab worked flawlessly on my old ZS which had a proper aerial. :(

The issue we have is that although it might show BBC Radio 2 on the screen, it is still playing Greatest Hits. No matter what it shows on the screen, the radio still only plays Greatest Hits.
I've had this issue a couple of times using DAB. The screen showed a change of station but the sound kept on merrily coming from the orginal station I had strated on. I could not even turn the radio off - the pause button on screen and steering wheel had no effect. I stopped briefly, got out of the car, got back in, to provoke a soft reset of the infotainment sytem and things went back to normal.

Yes I’ve had that problem. It’s been in to MG and I’m waiting for module upgrade. I keep getting the message “U disk identity failure “

We had this issue again this afternoon.

It happened to me once before, perhaps a month ago.

DAB radio station doesn't change even if the screen says you have switched to a different one.

Tried shutting the car down even but seemingly nothing could be done. Ended up playing music from a phone instead but it is a worry about the software.

if it's useful... dab on/off.

My DAB radio has suddenly decided to be extremely unreliable. It regularly refuses to change station, freeze or play nothing but static if it works at all. A soft reboot doesn't work, but turning the whole car off, leaving it for 5mins then on again fixes it. It worked pretty much OK before, other than occasionally requiring a switch back to FM then back to DAB to find a station. I wonder if there is some weird date related bug in the software/firmware that would explain people having issues all at once?

The DAB reception is a bit flaky along the coast here. At the weekend whilst listening to Classic FM it cutout and the car announced ' You were listening to music how about this' and then cut back to the station. WTF?

My DAB sometimes comes on when I start the car and sometimes doesn't. When it doesn't I have to press the radio section on the home screen and then choose one of the saved stations and then it comes to life.

It has become part of my 6 minute ritual every time I get in the car.

Unplug my charger cable, get in the car, go to MG pilot to disable lane assist, turn off utterly useless speed warnings, go back to home page tap the radio section multiple times before it displays the settings, choose a channel (again, having to tap the screen multiple times, so that the radio starts playing. Drive a short distance and then check that the lane assist hasn't come back on and then start my journey.

I haven't resorted to putting tape over the camera yet as I quite like pretending that I am an airline pilot having to do lots of checks before take off. I've even taken to doing a short safety announcement when I have passengers on board.

Sometimes, "Hey MG" then, "play radio" works to bring the radio back on.
