MG4 Trophy LR
MY MG4 Trophy is in for its 1st service in April and I'd like the latest "improvements" added during the service.
I've already booked the car in and requested SC077 (LKA) to be done, but I don’t know what else could or should be done as a Service Campaign at the same time.

Can anyone tell me what Service Campaign(s) I can ask for to be done on my car, please?
I can tell you the build date, 13-8-2023 at 17:42Hrs, (yes that’s the exact date and time it went down the track!), although the car wasn’t registered until 12-4-2024.
So to me its a 2023 model, not a 2024 model. (Unless you can tell me its the first of a MY24 variety).

I need to get past the "gate keeper" at service reception at my local dealer. I already have her guard up by asking for SC077, and the under tray bulge to be fixed, but she wont tell me what else should be done; she says I have to complain of a fault before they will do any work other than the service.

Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

What version Infotainment software do you currently have?
That I'm not sure, I'm no techi, so I'll read the forum here and come back to you.

Are you experiencing Bluetooth pairing issues?
Only that my phone "somehow" now connects to the car.
So as happened recently, I received a call while near the car (10-15 yards away) but couldn’t hear anything, the call was in the car!!
(Yes, I know, some people shouldn’t be let loose with technology  )

Hi siteguru,
Current S/W is SW168-29958-1300R59

Not now I know how to turn off the BT pairing on my phone!

If there are any S/W changes that I might benefit from, are there any that give a realistic readout of set temperature for the AirCon? Mine is set to 26C but the "feels like" comfortable temperature is about 22C.

As always your thoughts and suggestions very welcome. :)

1300R63 is the next update for your model ... it alongside an update to the HVAC module software makes the HVAC system work much better, and means you can set a realistic target temperature rather than having to mentally subtract 4°C from the visible target temperature.

Thanks Siteguru for that.
Is this a Service Campaign update, and can I ask for this as a FOC service update?

I've already logged my"concerns" about the AirCon readings/settings with the "gate keeper" at the service reception, so I'm hoping to get positive response from the dealer.

Infotainment is not a Service Campaign update ... however you've already logged the relevant "issue" that could lead to it being applied. Just be aware that (if they apply R63 via USB stick) they still need to plug in their laptop as there is some config that needs to be applied via SIPS (the programming interface tool). But if they're applying the HVAC update then the laptop should be connected anyway.

If your going to Paul Rigby at Redditch then they will charge you for updates (apart from SC077 which will be done)

My 1st Service 3 weeks ago
I did not bother getting the updates as I am now use to the car and can put up with the bluetooth issues as I now use Wireless AA

Thanks for the warning STG, yes the "gate keeper" is at Paul Rigby Redditch.
I've requested 5 things for them to do, and they've already had an email from MG Europe regarding my "TBOX" (telematics box?). I think this is the thing that upset the "gate keeper" at service reception.

Was there a service number attached to the ACC to stop it slowing down when approaching gentle bends on motorways . I thought mine had been done , but apparently not. Very annoying for myself and anyone following.

It was SCUK001 which I got in November 2023 that resolved ACC for me. I've no idea what the EU campaign might have been. SC077 just made it better again.
SCUK001 made no difference to my ACC slowing down in bends so it must be another module update that sorted yours.

When mine went in for its 3rd service last month I asked them to sort the slowing down and was told there would be a £160 diagnostic charge which would be chargeable if no fault found.

And then they didn't apply SCUK0077 when it was there, despite claiming it had been done. I'm waiting for a reply as to why it wasn't done but don't hold out much hope of a sensible answer.

Maybe it was another update that affected my ACC ... but SCUK001 was the only thing referenced on my service paperwork back then. 🤷‍♂️

When I took my Trophy in for its first service I was told that thee was a 'recall' for the car. After the service the ACC was changed, I assumed under SCUK001.

@Tight Git, if your dealer lied about SCUK0077, are you sure they have not lied about 001?

No - I changed dealer for the third service last month and @nanomad checked my VIN number after the service and he confirmed that nothing had been updated since the first service on 1/9/23 when SCUK001 was actually done. I'm not sure why I bothered changing dealer as they all seem as bad as each other!

So, does the car tell the service system what updates have been done or does the dealer have to enter that information themselves? If the latter, you cannot rely on the service history.

Ask about latest software update R63 if it's not already on that

I will be checking after the service work is done. I'm currently on R59 (see above).
I've been warned that the dealer may try charging me for non service campaign upgrades.
A straight move to S/W R63 is not a service campaign, but because of the other issues I’d like fixed, it may happen by default. 🤞🤞🤞
