VOTE TESLA SUPERCHARGES with MG5

I tried ours on some new Tesla Super chargers in Kingston John Lewis car park & got an error the car wasn’t compatible, I did ask on the last service if it should work & they said yes. Guess I’ll ask again at its next service in March.

I paid BSM in Beaconsfield £50 for the Tesla fix on delivery for my MG5 FL Trophy in Dec but get errors ‘Electrical Grid abnormal’ charging at Wokingham and Uxbridge superchargers. Looks like they didn’t apply the fix correctly?
That's the same error I get - have BSM resolved it yet? Edit: Yes, by Wokingham - is referring to Earley, which is 'open-to-all'

@Muffler - as I said, I had the fix fitted at Beaconsfield a couple of weeks back and Earley was OK - but just by way of a proper test I tried another Telsa charger yesterday near Luton airport which had previously failed for me and all worked well.

So I'm confident they know what they're doing.

Breaking news... Just booked my 22 plate MG5 in for it's 3rd service and MOT and was told that they are now doing the update and it has been added to the job sheet... 25th of march.

I shall report back.
I had my second service today on my 23 plate SE and they also did the Tesla update that I asked to be done. No charge.👴

Thank you for that post Smokie.
So I have a Question for you at the end of this post.

So NOTE to everyone here there is another thread running much longer than this one which if you type into the search box at the top of this page,
Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR
It will take you to it.
Now in that thread on page 28 #559 and page 30 #583 you will read of
my experiences with Tesla V.4 units, and in particular the ones at Luton airport.

Now Smokie as you have recently visted and used the V4 chargers at Luton have they now been fitted the screens or not.
Les.

@Les burrows I guess you mean the ones at the shopping precinct near MacDonalds.

I suppose it's fair to say I can't give an exact answer - it was very early in the morning (dropping someone off for a 6am flight!) and I was cold and only did a 2 minute test there - however I think they must have had a screen - but if so it was only a small one on the back - nothing like I recall from other public chargers I've used (which are few and far between).

EDIT: Just read the other thread (direct link to your page ) - same screen as you have shown I'd say.

Got around to updating pretty much all of the modules today via SIPS including for Tesla chargers - will try to get over to the Earley charge site in next couple of days to check if all working ok...

Bought high mileage, ex airport shuttle
72 plate pre facelift long range
Tried on Tesla charger, no joy
Got the software update from dealer in Bideford (after a bit of humming and hawing) -paid them £90.
Confirmed Tesla charging works now, on Bristol chargers by Ikea yesterday.

Got over to Earley (Wokingham) site yesterday evening and, following updates I did over the weekend, have confirmed the car now accepts/works with Tesla chargers ok. Only managed charging rate of 35kW though but put that down to the site being completely stacked-out.

What's SIPS??

This post gives an overview of the DIY software/firmware update process:

Breaking news... Just booked my 22 plate MG5 in for it's 3rd service and MOT and was told that they are now doing the update and it has been added to the job sheet... 25th of Narch.

I just dropped off my Pre-FL 2022 to Chiswick MG for the same MOT & service, did yours get done ok?
Ill move my update to the other Tesla thread as it turns out my MG5 needs a part despite it having an EVCC-02 but a part number of 11313393 missing the 8 on the end which is one of the three needed parts to update.
