Hi everyone!

First poster here.

Warning lights after dead battery.

I have not used my MGM5 EV for 8 weeks and when I came to use it found the 12v battery had died. (Getting trapped in the car is story for another time!) We charged it and all seemed well but now when I start it all the systems - ABS, Traction Control, steering etc. say they’re faulty.

After telling me what’s wrong it looks like the above and it feels scary enough I decided I wouldn’t drive it. Anyone know what’s happened and how to fix it?

Hi and welcome to the forum,
If the 12V goes flat then you will get a number of errors thrown up. They should clear if you turn the steering wheel from left to right lock or just drive it a few miles normally clears the errors.

It doesn’t feel right. Is it safe to drive without ABS, stability control, traction control etc? Or is this just a bunch of warnings?

Oh… and I’ve done the steering wheel thing and now the only warning light that’s on is the ABS by it when I switch it off and on again all the warnings come back.

You don't have to drive it far.
Or call your dealer or MG assist and get the AA out.

You only need to go around the block.
Let us know how it works out :)

Glad all the warnings cleared, it's a bit disconcerting when you've not seen it before!

Mine usually clears after a few meters if that (I've had to pull the 12v off a couple of times when it got into a sulk after a disagreement with a public charger/EVSE)
