Collecting MG 3 trophy on 21st October. It is replacing a Renault Arkana Hybrid Esprit Alpine (only 8 months old). Although not had any faults yet, there are to many major faults reported for my liking and my lack of luck. Also many minor annoyances with the software.

Collecting MG 3 trophy on 21st October. It is replacing a Renault Arkana Hybrid Esprit Alpine (only 8 months old). Although not had any faults yet, there are to many major faults reported for my liking and my lack of luck. Also many minor annoyances with the software.

Oh yes, you've changed the size of your car, haven't you?
Did you find the Arkana less easy to park than the MG3 with its tight turning circle and high performance?

As for the inconveniences of RENAULT models, we French know all about them.
Apart from the dense network of dealerships in France, the Losange brand rightly has a deplorable reputation for reliability and repeated problems after the 2-year warranty.

My MG3 Hybrid+ car replaces a 2004 Citroën Xsara 1.6.
Although that car works perfectly, the Spain laws driving restrictions about CO2 emissions, force me to change to a ECO labeled car

Well so far it seems nobody else previously had an MG?! I also have a 1959 MGA and an MGF, so an MG nut. Although a little on the small side for me, my previous modern MGs were MG3, one for 4 years and the other 5 years. All the previous Chinese MGs after the TF LE500 were huge SUVs, what a waste of unneeded space! The 3s were of course gutless at low revs but at top revs they went OK, cornered on rails, reliable too, what got to me was the harsh ride, especially for any passengers. Had a drive in this Hybrid and immediately the ride comfort could be felt, put you foot in it, blow me you had to have one. Not wishing to risk an EV yet this was the way to go being that bit bigger and more economical than the old MG3. Slowly coming to terms with the 'tech', a lot of which is not well explained in the manual. Am currently finding the brightness of the screens either too dim in sunlight or too bright at night and typically the 'A' (brake) button light too dim and the unlit ECO button impossible to find at night. Probably doesn't corner as well at the old 3s but the comfort more than makes up for it. The really good thing, so far no problems but I do wonder how long it will take the car to warm up when it gets really cold out there.

You'll lose the PULLMAN comfort but gain in performance and fuel consumption.

Oh dear. I'm looking at a Scenic EV as a possible replacement in 2026 for the MG4 we currently have on lease.

Would you steer well clear?

Hyundai Ioniq 5
VW ID4
Skoda Enyaq

Bearing in mind my wants in the next vehicle are:

Bigger boot
Higher up and easier to get in and out of
Android Auto that is reliable

I think the Scenic ticks all those boxes and runs Google software, so that side of things, in particular voice recognition, will be flawless.

Talking to the MG is hopeless. 9 times out of 10 it says "Pardon?"

The SCENIC, like all Renault cars, represents a reliability risk.

In your particular case, I'd be more interested in the IONIQ 5.

The French have never been very good at technology and here in France, we feel that they are a long way behind South-East Asia.

As for the voice control, I don't quite understand because the voice control on my MG3 works very well.
For example, when I'm on AMIGO navigation, I press the button on the left-hand steering wheel and say "allez 132 avenue des champs élysée Paris" and the application AMIGO understands perfectly.

The same goes for "CAC40 share price" and Google responds!
