What do you think will be standard range in 5 years time

I should have explained that I use the same system that you do, zeroing the long term counter, etc to get the 165 mile range. As you know, the original 2019 software did exactly that so it is comforting to check your car can still show the same with full soc.

In real life, the GOM means little, unless you need to go on a longer trip. And then you just have to be VERY CAREFUL! There is no other way.

Going over old ground here, but you can produce a very accurate range prediction when going on a long journey. From 100% charge, review the actual miles/KwHr that you are achieving during that journey and multiply it by the usable battery size - it provides an extremely accurate range prediction.

I'd also just do what you used to do in an ICE car (wuth the fuel gauge). I'd see how much battery was used, one-quarter of the.way into the journey, then a third way through and then halfway through the journey. I'd use that to determine if I need eg a rapid charge to get to my destination.
