So I know we have the other poll, but alot of us voted during the “honeymoon phase”

This poll is for those that have owned their MG4 for at least 6months and would they buy another MG4 or even keep the one they have ?

I had my launch model SE for one year then sold it, I personally would never have another MG even the better regarded ones like the MG5 nor would I entertain any Chinese brand now after my experience.

I've had my X Power for 10 weeks. So if your asking me now, then yes, I would.
But after, say 10 months, who knows, hope so. 🙂👍

Regardless of how long I’ve had my MG4, I don’t expect to be buying a new car for the next 7 years at least, so who knows what’s on the market then.

But if something happened to the car and it got written off for example, I wouldn’t be against replacing it with another MG4

We love our MG4, but haven't had to deal with the local suppliers yet.
Haven't had any issues so far, Just wish we could permanently turn of LKA. Apart from that it's a real pleasure to drive. We've just returned from NZ where we had new Ford Escape and Toyota RAV4, they drove OK but the MG is much nicer.

No, just ordered an Ioniq 5 N-line S as my next salary-sacrifice lease car. The MG4 is great to drive but the software lets it down. For example, the Ioniq has a single button (yes button !) to turn off LKA. Plus I wanted something with more range (84Kwh battery in the new one).

Fair enough. Enjoy your new motor. 🙂👍

I voted Maybe but it all depends. Having had issues and poor service (due to MG UK not my dealer) I am currently looking elsewhere but I could be tempted back by amazing value. Wouldn't have another 4, would be a different car, maybe the ES5.

That said, there's value competition around now, the Dacias are amazingly cheap.

Software updates, communication and service experience are the deal breakers.

I'm not sure I would . I really like the car ( my mrs doesn't, she's only 5' and she likes to be in a higher vehicle) but it has been back to the dealer more times than any other car I've had . like most other people here I love the way it drives but the software , and other assorted issues have dulled the experience of owning it somewhat . My dealership have been pretty good but I think that their hands have been tied by SAIC on a number of occassions . Let's face it the Chinese will never admit to making mistakes or getting something wrong .
I went into my purchase fully aware of the likely issues of owning a from the floor up new, relatively cheap car (my car is a launch SE SR) so I wasn't surprised with some of the problems that occurred but the finances stacked up correctly for me and I've saved a colossal amount of money by running the MG4.
I'm conflicted ,there was virtually no competition at the time I bought but with more and more cost effective models coming to the marketplace I'm determined to look carefully next time around. By the time I'm ready to change there will probably be a "new " MG 4 so it'll be interesting to see what MG have learned in the intervening years and whether they'll be able to keep my business.

I won't be buying any new cars that don't remember and retain the user settings, MG or other.
It's a ridiculous situation where you have to set everything up every time before you can drive off.

I want an "On The Fence" option. 👍

You could form a "Splinter group" 😉🙂👍

Fair enough. Might narrow the choice down a bit though. 🙂👍

I think that I would go for an EV6, MG have been poor with their customer support with repairs and software glitches, it all seems to little too late. I had a CCU replaced, that took 2 months to sort out, software updates to fix an AC charging issue. Now the car is running ok and has been for a year or so, but it just doesn't build confidence with the brand.
