Would you have another MG after the MG4 ?

Would you have another MG car after the MG4 ?

For me these days it's more about the dealer and the customer service than the badge. The car has to feel right but you need someone who will look after the car and you.

This is my first lease car and the fact you have zero control over anything to do with it makes it a much less personal experience. If I was making all the decisions it might be different but my only involvement with the car is driving it and charging it and on those fronts I would consider another MG

Much as I love the car I was not happy with the supplying dealer, who were slow to fix a charging problem when car was delivered, and would not buy from them again. Alternative dealer who carried out first service were good. Quite happy to keep the car for the duration of the PCP but my requirements are changing so shall probably go for something else next time round.

For me I would get another, it's only 9 months but not had anything physically go wrong and just software niggles but I would get another, maybe the XPOWER if the landscape is the same in 2 years time.

I won't be buying any new cars that don't remember and retain the user settings, MG or other.
It's a ridiculous situation where you have to set everything up every time before you can drive off.
+1 Very fair point, turning off LKA etc seams to be a necessity in most makes of car and it’s a faff / flurry of infotainment screen sub menus to do so in 90% of cars.

I actually really like Renault E-scenic approach of gentle bong driver aids and then one physical button labelled “personal” that you press to instantly set all the drivers aids to your pre-chosen choices ( probably all aids off for me apart from auto emergancy braking as that’s the one that seams to be reliable in most cars )

Would I buy another MG? I don't know. All I do know is that it will be an EV

The MG4 was the right choice when I bought it and I've only had a couple of software niggles which have been sorted. I like that it doesn't look like a rounded box or a Tesla, which now look dated.

I owned used BL cars for many years (my father worked for a BL franchise) before changing to Ford. This is the first car I've had from new and that wasn't manufactured by one of the traditional companies.

+1 With a better gentler bong and single personal button.

How MG let the hideous bong we put up with through the net I'll never know.

Sounds like a bong gone wrong to my ear!

The very best in car noises and bongs are in the BMW hybrid/ev product.

My 330e sounded fabulous.

All done by Hans Zimmer I believe.

I've just driven a brand new 2024 Electric Vauxhall Corsa. Just one two second push of a physical button and LKA was disabled 🤷‍♂️👍

Hopefully you will be feeling better soon. 👍

Only taking the P m8.

I would dearly love to support Vauxhall.
If they could just bring out something I wanted at a reasonable price.

My first car was a Vauxhall Viva in.........yellow! 🤣

Sadly, no pictures of it exist.

I want but they need to add some basic equipment.

In my country the Chinese is very "strong" there is a lot of good Chinese EVs here. But non of them have the European-VW driving style like the MG4

Surely if you only want to disable LKA then you can just swipe down from the top and disable it with one click. If you want to disable emergency braked assist too like I do then thats a different matter

But it is not one click.

Swipe down
Press Disable LKA
Confirm you actually want to disable it.

Better than before but still, my last car had a button on the end of the stalk.

I didn't need to look at it and it took one swift press.

Yes but it takes like 2 seconds. Same as having to hold a button for a couple of seconds.

Au contraire.

I can push a button a damn site faster that it takes to swipe down, then swipe again, because it didn't register the first time.

Press Disable LKA.
Possibly press it again as above.

Press a bloody gain, because the car wants to be 100% sure, I am willing to 'risk' being in control myself. 🤯
