X Power Rejection.

My PCP runs out next September ... I doubt it will be setted by then.

I can see this lasting years myself if it goes through the courts. My VW dieselgate claim should have been cut and dry but that has been going on for three or four years now !!

I think you'll find this is a different kettle O fish from the Dieselgate thing m8?

Be good to get clarification from your chat later though. ?

Oh and look at it like this, let's say it does take as long as you think, forget what you are paying now per month, as you will get it all back when we win.

I've just thought about this in the shower and it's not costing me £215 per month in finance repayments, it's actually costing me 25p per mile.
(Probably less according to RMC)

So about £50 per week to effectively 'rent' the car.

MG have already had X Powers rejected.
They will not be able to stop the inevitable.
Perhaps some compo could be added for all the stress, unnecessary time wasting, fob offs, lies and humiliation we have all suffered! ?

Even Whatcar were derogatory about the MG4 X Power, words to the effect "It's cheap so what do you expect"!

Cheeky ****s.

I shall now go and find that quote.......

Bear With.......

In a Bristolian accent " Yer Tiz Then"

I mean check this price out.
Just 1000 miles on the clock.

Knowing what I know now, I would be happy to pay that price but NOT before a very thorough, no stone unturned test drive!!!

So cheap because it has the vibes?

I wouldn't be surprised if the finance companies get in on the act - they're potentially going to lose money if the market starts to flood with XPOWERS with vibes and 2nd hand buyers insist on newer models.

Who knows m8?

I bloody do!

That's who!! ???

I would test drive in Stealth mode, not letting on for a single second that I had, not only the first UK X Power on the road, but also the bloody fastest 0 to 60 and the 1/4 mile........."In The World" (Thankyou @jezza)

Be very interesting to see the reaction when I question them about the unusual vibration through the wheel at certain speeds!!!

I think this will be resolved reasonably quickly, within 6 months, MG will not want the added cost of court fees so I think they will cave before it gets to that stage.
You could always add a bit of extra pressure bit of an interesting story for the motoring press and worth a group response on MGs social media.

Set up a twitter account with a group name , that certain members can get access to and that way a few of you can reply to mg's page or the motor magazines

I wish I had your optimism but I suspect MG UK would drag this on through the courts to delay a costly compensation exercise for all early Xpowers (and the UK must be one of the largest Xpower customers) and then only just before the final court hearing come up with an out of court settlement. But this could be many years down the line.

I'm glad I don't have your pessimism M8T!

I think, (steady) that the fact MG have already had to cave in to rejection for vibrating X Powers will hasten the process.

Let's reconvene in two years and see who was right.

Anyway it won't get that far pal, we will all shortly be consumed by the inevitable Nuclear Fire that I reckon might just be round the corner.
Happy Tuesday!! ???

As reuested. My summary of my experience when rejecting my Xpower.

11/4/24 Car delivered

16/4 vibration problem reported to leasing company

16/5 car taken to local dealer for inspection agreed that there was vibration and a “distortional noise” Wheels balanced, no difference. They also had another two Xpowers in stock which also showed the same issue “suspect a characteristic of the vehicle” was the response.

20/5 car taken to an independent vibration analysis company. A road test drive was undertaken and the vibration was felt and heard. To sum up the report they agreed that the vibration was abnormal and that it was not due to wheel imbalance. The full report was sent to the leasing company, I hope it was also sent to MG.

20/5 Told leasing company I was going to reject the car.

8/7 Financial Ombudsman involved.

12/7 Visit to dealer again, same problem reported, wheels balanced again, then rebalanced at a nearby tyre supplier. No difference

13/8 Fitted steering damper, no difference.

16/8 Replaced all 4 tyres with new Continental Premium Contact 6 tyres no difference. One thing I missed out was the dealer installed R59 software as a last resort, unsurprisingly that didn't make any difference.

23/8 End of the road, lease company agreed to the rejection.

As part their report to leasing company MG still insisted that it just vibration through the steering and a “characteristic”. The report was quite condescending and dismissive.

I think you have your 16/5 and 9/5 dates the wrong way round?

Well done for persevering.

I have also found MG UK to be condescending & dismissive and for me this is the most frustrating aspect of ownership. Even if we were still without a fix at this point (as we are now), had their attitude been more sympathetic and understanding, there would be more goodwill amongst customers I'm sure, myself included.

The reason we originally dropped our previous rejection process back in May was that the dealer had in writing from MG UK that a fix had been tested & approved & was due any moment that involved 'revised suspension components' (what we now know to be the suddenly dropped, expensive 'stage 2' fix). This combined with the fact our vibrations whilst still present, weren't anyway near as bad as some cars.

The revised steering damper is being fitted to ours Friday so I'm wait to see if this offers any improvement before deciding how to proceed.

Just remember that even if it does offer an improvement, it is still only masking the underlying problem leading to accelerated wear and tear of components along with all the stress on your Melon or Swede.
(Depending on location) ?

Now that's a WOW! But could be Business users only, but still, WOW! ??
As for lease deals, they are very cheap, although never interested me personally. ??

That's the Everyman (or womans) price.

Certainly not seen it cheaper and I've been looking.

It's like they just want it gone!

Perhaps they are jacking in the dealership like a lot of the others have.

Seems to me like a massive shooting into one's own foot from MG UK regarding many aspects of their business.
