X Power Rejection.

As requested. My summary of my experience when rejecting my Xpower...............

.........23/8 End of the road, lease company agreed to the rejection.................

................As part their report to leasing company MG still insisted that it just vibration through the steering and a “characteristic”. The report was quite condescending and dismissive................

Many thanks for posting that. It's interesting that it was your lease company that accepted the rejection and not MG. In fact for private owners (not on a lease) your last paragraph would seem to suggest MG UK will put up a fight against rejection ?.... so I can see things going to court IMHO.

Did you get your money back for any third party testing and reports ?

Interesting stats re rejection if MG UK had to pay up for all Xpower owners by a court precedence :-

For anyone wondering.... we will be charged a fee for using the car, an indicated 20 -25p per mile.

Not impressed by www.rejectmy.com/contact ?

Had a telephone case call arranged for today and no one called. I rang them after 10 mins overdue and was told Ian is not in the office and they can't give me a time when he will be back to call me.

So a wasted hour preparing and no idea when they will call ?

EDIT : Ian called me back just now and apologised .... he had an unexpected call out so all good in the end ?

Bugger.

Seems completely different to my experience m8.

But I have only used email mind.

Questions answered to my satisfaction.

Documents to sign, sent and returned.

Sent finance and sales invoice documents.

All seems very efficient so far?

I'm bloody tempted to do that now and just park the other one up!

Mind you I would need a written cast iron guarantee that it had been checked for bloody vibes before delivery, and even then I wouldn't be happy til I'd driven it first.

If it is lease you will not know, i am awaiting mine, have asked the questions and been told this…….

I can confirm the registration number is DV74 ***

With relation to your queries, please see the response from the supplying dealership -

Our delivery team will contact the customer once they have planned the logistics of the delivery, due to the large quantity of vehicles which have arrived the end of Sept this may take longer than normal. As we are only a PDI centre we do not have the facility to check software updates & these are only carried out if MG confirm that it needs to be actioned by ourselves. The MG system does not provide us with the date the vehicle was built sorry.

I will continue to chase the dealer to esbtalish when you will be contacted now it's a new month/quarter so please do let me know if they get in touch with you.

I will be in touch soon.

All the best,

Charlie

Under pressure they did pay for the testing report.

As soon as the car is delivered, look under the rear parcel shelf, there should be a sticker with a date stamp which will give you a an idea of close build date...though I know some stickers are being taken out now to stop people knowing.

That's assuming that there isn't a plastic wallet in the glovebox with a certificate of conformity in it, showing the exact build date (in MM/DD/YYYY format). ;)

Mine was folded and tucked behind the glove box, I only found it when I was cleaning, I can only assume it was by accident.

My sticker on the parcel shelf had been removed.

Seeing your date so close to my date.
I wonder what the earliest date the vibes stop at.

I may be imagining it but I swear my vibes are getting worse!

Just turned 10000 miles.

It looks like your car was built in April 23? Sound right? From the leaked bulletin, we reckon it's from Feb 24 onwards give or take a few lemons as I reckon it was mixed parts. That's why a few 23 builds don't have it.
To compound it, a mix of builds have been stored in lockups, on runways or in dockyard storage.
So that's why some cars are registered 2024 but built 2023. My sticker is June 2023, I've attached the date from my CoC.

My PCP runs out next September ... I doubt it will be setted by then.

I can see this lasting years myself if it goes through the courts. My VW dieselgate claim should have been cut and dry but that has been going on for three or four years now !!
That's the good thing about using RejectMyCar.com. They have recent history with MG over another case (RMC won).

I'm part of the group action too. No win, no fee. But they will win. It may take 6 months, but MG aren't going to like the noise that's made about this vehicle (literally!). Especially as they are trying to push their new Cyberster into the UK market. We will be an unwelcome distraction.

TBH, I'd settle for a replacement non-vibrating XPower. I like the concept. I like the speed. But I'm not prepared to rattle my bones for 5 hours whenever I want to drive down to Brighton to visit my daughter. We all deserve better!
