X Power Rejection.

Not impressed by www.rejectmy.com/contact ?

Had a telephone case call arranged for today and no one called. I rang them after 10 mins overdue and was told Ian is not in the office and they can't give me a time when he will be back to call me.

So a wasted hour preparing and no idea when they will call ?

EDIT : Ian called me back just now and apologised .... he had an unexpected call out so all good in the end ?
I had a similar situation. He gets caught out by the Sheriff and the Scottish Courts unfortunately, and they have a habit of over-running. Trust me though, his experience and knowledge about MG and the motor industry is worth a little patience.

That's the good thing about using RejectMyCar.com. They have recent history with MG over another case (RMC won).

I'm part of the group action too. No win, no fee. But they will win. It may take 6 months, but MG aren't going to like the noise that's made about this vehicle (literally!). Especially as they are trying to push their new Cyberster into the UK market. We will be an unwelcome distraction.

TBH, I'd settle for a replacement non-vibrating XPower. I like the concept. I like the speed. But I'm not prepared to rattle my bones for 5 hours whenever I want to drive down to Brighton to visit my daughter. We all deserve better!
You make a good point about the Cyberster, MG are moving into a totally different ball park with that car.

Anyone spending £55k on a car are looking for a certain level of fit and finish and the after sales to back that price up.
They aren't going to put up with little quirks and the like that a lot of people seem to be happy enough to put up with because the 4 drives well and is a bit of a bargain. Lots of other bargains out there now.

They will really need to up their game with that car or the could fall flat on their face

Just wondering what happens with upgrades we've spent on our car if we go the RMC route? Aside from the ceramic coating, we've had a towbar professionally fitted (needed it for work) and also an audio upgrade to fix the abysmal standard sound. If we went for a non-vibrating replacement car, we'd have to have at least the tow bar fitted. If we had do all the other upgrades again we'd be a total £1.6k out of pocket (potentially double this if we only get the purchase value of the car back, ignoring the mileage element).

This is one of the reasons I did not lower my car straight away.
I did not want to complicate the incoming fix???
I've added the purchase price of my new tyres to the whole claim, which I do not expect to get back tbh, but still have the old ones to go back on.

They were 'sold' twice, but not collected so I'm quite happy about that now.

I don't know the answer, but you could ask the team at Reject so that you have an informed choice. I've got ceramic coating, dealership-fitted 360 camera and alloy/paint protect. I would expect them to be transferred to a replacement vehicle or refunded pro-rata.

When do they go from gathering cases to pursuing MG?

Soon.
He already has all the evidence as he has already successfully rejected individual X Powers this year.

They are gathering all further interested X Power owners into the one 'action' and then will move forward.

By and large we are the owners who were graciously and patiently waiting for MG to do the right thing.

Oopsie.

If you have the vibration and you want to complain, then go to the website and add your details?

Yes a characteristic like that should be made known to any potential buyer.
MG are talking cobblers and will lose this no question.
Cars have already been rejected with success, the seed is sown.
I wonder how many of those bargains on auto trader with a couple of thousand miles on them are rejected X powers, they can't all be demos.

Exactly and those cars are still under warranty and the new owners will be surely complaining just the same.
The buck stops with SAIC/MG, they built the thing, it’s their problem to sort it out.

I wouldn't even bother with 2023 builds or even early 2024 builds up to April 2024. Customers do get confused with first registration.

MG has fixed the issue at the factory. After these dates, drivers don't have the issue, the fix is something that MG denies.
The million dollar question is have they fixed it or have they just been able to mask it completely and as has been said any negative impact on components is still going on in the background

There does seem to be something very suspicious and odd going on with MG UK regarding this issue if all these statements and owners accounts are true.

If the official MG spiel is true (I have no idea myself as it was posted on Facebook) but there are allegedly at least two owners on the Facebook Group that in the last few weeks have been offered the Stage 2 fix (suspension etc,) by their dealer and then suddenly had the offer withdrawn. I believe one might even be on here too. In fact Rochdale MG allegedly even had the parts delivered and were ready to put them on, the owner has stated.

So how come it got that far ?? (allegedly parts imported to UK and distributed to dealer for a fix in the last few weeks ) if MG UK allegedly have said :-

"We are also aware that an internal MG communication, which referenced a development proposition involving suspension part replacements as a potential solution for the vibration, has been shared publicly. This communication was issued internally back in April and has since been tested. Unfortunately, it was found that this proposed solution was ineffective in reducing the vibration on UK models. As such, it is not being pursued further as a resolution for this characteristic"

All very contradictory and still no statement on the long term effect the vibration will have on the cars components in the longer term as suggested in post above

It's not allegedly, I have an email from MG UK confirming that my car can have the stage 2 fix and to get the car booked in to my closest dealer.

Then an email to say that MG UK, have had many meetings with SAIC over the weekend and have decided the fix won't work so it's now not being applied.

I also know for a fact that the parts were ordered and delivered to the dealer in Rochdale, then this customer was told exactly the same.

Thanks for confirming ..... I was just trying to cover myself !! ??

So we have to wonder how did it get that far if MG UK were aware of the fix in April, have tested it and found it to be ineffective ? .... yet still distributed the parts to Rochdale MG to implement the fix ?‍♂️
