X Power Rejection.

Maybe MG could just add this to the list of XPower "specs" on the website...

What like, this? ???

I have vibes, they aren't as bad as mentioned on a post here but they definitely are present. They come in at 63 mph and last until 70ish.

I tested this on some very new smooth tarmac roads and they appear every time at 63mph, but as I say they aren't anywhere near as bad as I've seen referenced on here.

Now I did up my tyre pressures to 2.8 bar before doing any real testing, so I could see if they get worse lowering them again.

The other questions is can I live with them, and will they get better or worse with age and mileage.

Or which components are being damaged by the vibration to a point that they fail at some point in the future, at your expense.

As a consumer, we shouldn't put up with this in a fairly expensive flagship car, on the other hand, we shouldn't put up with the shoddy way that MG UK are treating their customers who do have the vibration.

It's totally up to you if you can live with it that's fine.
If you expect better then join the class action.

I agree, mine is a lease so will be gone in 3 years, i don't have to worry about the wear and tear past warranty issues.

It's my personal circumstances that I also have to think about, I've been fighting cancer for the last 9 years so I put all my energy in to family, friends and myself (sometimes), not sure I have the time and energy to worry about this. I really need to think about it.

Sorry to hear about your personal circumstances, Charles. Sort of puts the Vibes into perspective. And as you say, if it's really only slight vibes in your case, and it's a lease car. You could well live with it. Good luck for the future, Charles. ??

100% correct with regards putting up with issues, unfortunately at the outset people decided to put up with all sorts with the MG 4. They wrote it of as little idiosyncrasies and called them "pre flight check lists" etc.
This car has been riddled with issues, to varying degrees, across all models in the range at some point or other.

The common denominator in all this seems to be a less than satisfactory back up from MG UK.

The What Car survey doesn't lie, the only way forward now is the group legal and as much publicity as possible.

A victory for the group could actually benefit every MG owner moving forward, otherwise MG is going to have a lot of one car then move on owners.

Agreed, it's not even so much the "foibles"
of the MG4, or any modern MG for that matter. It's the utter contempt, the way MG treat there customers. Who've shelled
out good money, for there product. ??

@seamust1000 @LenEV2016 @salty. ?

Without reading through the many, many pages and various threads.....does anyone have an idea of the earliest vibe free, build dates?

@Doug C had just sent me 22 06 23.

Now I've driven his car and can confirm zero vibes.
Not a sniff.
Nada.
Nothing.

So does anyone have earlier?

Or for that matter a later date and do have the vibes?

I extensively drove Howards Yeovil X-Power demo back in January 2024 which the sales manager said he'd had for 4 months so would have been one of the earlier cars. Did around 100 miles in it and there were definitely no vibrations, so I went ahead and ordered one one the back of that.........

If you are compiling a list my car has a build date of 13/8/23 (parcel shelf date 8/8/23) and has the vibes (wasn't delivered until December 2023). Came with infotainment software version R40.

Noticeable reduction in vibes after the first 1,000 miles and also with slight increase in tyre pressures. Sitting at 5,100 miles on the clock and the vibes are now negligible (but still there).

Just to show it is not just MG who mess their owners around with known faults. This is how BMW/Mini have treated their customers over a part design fault. Essentially if you are a UK customer you are stuffed, but if you are a US customer there is a warranty replacement available.

It took BMW nearly 10 years to come up with this 10 year warranty solution, so some of the cars with the issue are so old they are not even covered.

It would be interesting reading an engineers report, if ever commissioned, on the future impact of these vibes on the components of the car.
Depending on results these cars could be an absolute money pit in 3,4,5, 6 years time. No issue if the car is leased or being returned at the end of a PCP deal. Crap if people are intending keeping them long term and used values could plummet if there is enough publicity
