Xpower as a hot hatch

Yeah the Xpower stopping distance was way way further than the M2 in the CarWow drag race.
I'm pretty sure that could be resolved with some aggressive pads (in the past I've used Hawk Ceramic) - which yes it does eat disks on a non regenerative car (VW Tiguan, pads still ok after 10 years, discs every 5 years!) - but even on an MG4 X-power I'd suggest that the pads (with existing discs) will out last the battery/car?

I’ve already mentioned I’m waiting for EBC Yellowstuff to come out for this car. That’s my choice of pads for a road car.

I’d be interested to know the OEM for the factory pads.

Completely agree, get some aggressive pads - it will kill the metal discs (over 100k miles in an ICE, maybe 150K+ in an EV), my run around car was a ford Ka - the discs died every 15k miles!! (and the car died after 6 years due to rust! - similar to my 1st car, an Austin Allegro :poop::poop:

You must do a lot of hard braking. My last car, Focus 2.0 diesel 163bhp, was still on it's original discs at 52,000 miles. And no I didn't drive it like an OAP

Wait until you hear how fast the rear pads wear out on F-series MINIs. ?

New front tyres at 8,000 miles - new rear pads between 8,000 and 12,000 depending on how hilly the place you live is. Since the braking function on the cruise control only uses the rear axle for reasons only BMW know.

Another review:

Title fairly misleading when you watch what she has to say.

Flawed, I can imagine (can only wish I had more experience than the test-drive to do more than imagine). Anybody know of any car that isn't 'flawed' though?

Won't repeat what many others have said on here too much but what you get for what you pay seems to be pretty outstanding with the XPower

I left this in the comments

That is a crappy road.
ANY car you drive along there will bounce about.
Get on the evo triangle and try again.
Why do journos assume what a car will do? "I dont know what it will be like in the wet" she said, "but I suspect!!!" Infuriating.
Any chance of the bloody lottery numbers for Saturday seeing as your so good at predictions ???

I didn't realise Lincolnshire was so hilly. Wait until you go oop north, they've got proper hills ?

This fella thinks I live in Boston!

Someone has never been to Lincoln, or the Wolds!

Not everything is the Fens, and the bit of Lincolnshire I grew up in is further north than Manchester. Lincolnshire is the second biggest county, and it's long, so it covers a massive amount of England.

Likewise - Grimsby (pre-Humberside!) born and bred and lived in Louth for a decade.
