My car has done the yellow thing a couple of times with no obvious reason I can tell you it is not cold related that’s for sure .
Also I charge my car to 100% most of the time as recommended by MG for the 51kwh battery in the MG4.

The yellow battery means that your 12v battery is low & is in the process of being charged by the high voltage battery. After finishing your journey or plugging it in it should go back to green.

As long as it doesn't turn this shade of yellow, it's fine. ?

Given that it's the HV battery SoC indicator that goes amber ... sorry, but I don't believe you. :)

That isn't what the yellow SoC bar on the infotainment screen means, which is what we're talking about.

It supposed to change colour according to the state of charge I believe. But it appears that most cars stay green all the time and some randomly change to orange. It will probably go green again when you turn off and back on again.

My range percentage display change from green to orange shortly after manoeuvring close to a charging point whilst shunting into a non-charger parking space - coincidence? Am I being stalked by a charger network? When we returned to the car it was back to regular green?

It seems to be an "Easter egg". Otherwise known as a bug. The real amber warning comes on at 12 miles of range and affects the driver's screen as well as the infotainment screen.

It seems many dealers do no briefing at all on what the car needs.
How would that help? Dealers know sweet F A about their electric cars.

Most still refer to them as being automatics ? and they leave the demonstrators on charge 24/7.

That would make sense, Amber being caution however I've had mine turn orange a few times, not recently when battery soc wad around 50%. I can't believe its warning to charge up at 50%, its goes down to 25% and stays green. Must be a bug. I did mention it to my MG dealer and they didn't seem to know..

Your car must be running an old software.
The bar was fixed long time ago now for the SE SR
