That’s only on the early trophy model none on any SE specI thought with the latest software update there was no longer a coffee cup icon on the screen as shown in the photo . Maybe I'm wrong.
I agree with the feeling of holding you back to some degree my 5 is much the same which is why I aways use lowest regen on motorways but round town it not much different to me my wife always drives in eco regen 3.SE SR
Latest software allegedly.
Normal mode and high regen.
TBH I think high regen is bad for range.
I notice if I’m driving at a set speed (say 40mph) switching from the preset high regen to adaptive makes the car ‘leap’ a bit, like something that was dragging it back has been lifted.
I like adaptive and I think it would improve efficiency, but too late for experiments now.
It was meant to be patched when I took it in to get the central locking issue fixed, but they were told by MG China to not install it due to a software corruption. Kind of forgotten it’s there now tbh.I thought with the latest software update there was no longer a coffee cup icon on the screen as shown in the photo . Maybe I'm wrong.
Yes, GoM calculator in MG is rudimentary. At the start of day the GoM displays range based on Accumulated mpkwh, as you put in a few miles and current mpkwh is updated, the GoM will recalculate remaining miles based on the current figures.Range Displayed
The range displayed is not wholly based on the battery capacity and the mileage advertised.
An algorithm within the car looks at existing battery capacity and driving history, examining previous journeys miles per kwh for example and derives an estimate of what range may be available.
Speed, cabin heating, terrain, regen use, weather conditions, to name some of the factors involved, will have an impact on miles per kwh and therefore it is purely an estimate, as was the range when you collected your vehicle.
The range available will not take into consideration the type of journey you may have planned based on the above factors and therefore regard it as just an estimate.
As it gets warmer watch the range go?
You need an off peak tariff, don't you? I am using Octopus Go and can get 30kWh roughly charged up within the 4 hour window at 12.5p/kWh.
But our daily normal usage would make an off-peak tariff unworkable, given the irregularity of needing to charge the car. (SWMBO will absolutely not have dishwasher/washing machine/tumble dryer running overnight whilst we're sleeping).
Mine is there or thereabouts ... certainly not a 23% differential. (The GoM won't show a number less than 2 mpkWh, so it shows dashes or 2 or higher). Thanks siteguru! Is your car computer displaying the same mpkwh numbers as in your sheet, or is it also off ... by like 23 %?![]()
@siteguru intrigued by your spreadsheet, recently I've been keeping a similar but more rudimentary record since I've become aware of the difference between Stored & Charged.
