Hi. Last week I took delivery of my new 2nd Gen ZS EV Long Range (with panoramic roof!) and since then I’ve had no end of problems trying to register my phone number or email address on iSmart. And then when I did manage to register it, I couldn’t get the app on my phone to bind with the vehicle. I eventually solved the problem and I’m recording here what I did for anyone who comes after me and who encounters similar problems. This may just be the solution you need!
My Android phone - a Samsung Galaxy S20 5G – seemed to be the root of the problem. I just could not get the iSmart app to recognise either the phone number or my email address in order to unlock the Register button. I then loaded iSmart onto my Android tablet – a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE – and tried registering that way and…BINGO!
I was then able to login to iSmart on my phone but when I attempted to Bind the account to the vehicle using the QR code I got repeated failures and the dreaded “try again later” message. So, instead of using my phone I reverted to my trusty tablet inside the car on my driveway where I get a good Wi-Fi signal and again…BINGO!
With the vehicle and account bound together then iSmart on my phone can now “see” the vehicle and I can use all of the app’s functionality on either the tablet or the phone.
As I say, the phone seemed to be the root of the problem. Why? Who knows – but by now I don’t really care.
