Got it going now. Had to turn on the car though and turn the cars hot spot on and off and start Amazon Music and connect and unconnect to my phones hot spot to get the cars connection back up again. Its still not working for me and is saying the same. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled the app, but its made no difference.
Yes I agree. That's why I wonder if there's a problem with the car rather than the app. Honestly, I didn't notice if this option was there the first time I tried this, as I've been trying several times a day since I got the car a week ago without success. The attachment shows that the account has successfully bound to to the car. This would imply that the phone app should work. What are you finding when logging into the app?
Yes I think so too, but it isn't my account that's bound (see post above this one). Despite being a brand new car a week ago, is what seems very odd.It says If you need to reconnect then unbind in the app. I have a ZS Mark 1 with no app, but that condition seems important to me.
They told me that MG are having problems with their app/servers at the moment so if it didn't work not to worry and wait for an update.Your original post mentions the dealer commenting on the app. Is it possible that they have bound an account to the app?
It is your iSmart account which gets bound to the car, not your phone. It does seem like it's already bound to something - either to another phone, or to mine but it's glitched and I can't actually see it. I may just have to go back...
Same here - updated iOS to 2.04 ! - needed to change my charging from 80% to 100% as on a long run today but app wasn't connecting (tried up until 1am today when I got in) - forced my charger to go to 100% in the end - just fired up the app this morning and it connected and confirmed 100% battery SOC and 285ml range available (thankfully the bad weather has gone for a bit!) ... so app seems to be working now!Personally I couldn't use the app for anything between 8pm until 5am when I woke up and tried again (successfully) however tonight I am having the same issues with connectivity "unable to complete request please try again later"....but I need to charge my car now!!
I share your frustration regarding iSmart connectivity. It sometimes goes for days or weeks without connecting (try again later!), and then suddenly starts working again. I have learned that no amount of fiddling works, and you can easily make it worse (having to reinstall and rebind). I think we have to accept the one star reviews are for a reason: it is the most unreliable App ever! Come on MG: give us all a decent App to match what is a great car!The iSmart app is very temperamental, more often than not it refuses to connect to the server or the car wont connect to the server. It's very annoying in this cold weather when I want to preheat the car. Think it was written by the same chap that wrote he infotainment software, both are flaky.
That’s a relief, I’m so hopeless at all this stuff ??The app appears to be down again at this exact moment - this is a regular occurrence and likely not just you (and me) so don't worry too much. Try again tomorrow!
No, Sandra, you're not hopeless. We're all beaten by MG's software team. That’s a relief, I’m so hopeless at all this stuff ??![]()
