You can adjust the regen setting so that it's not so intrusive, gradually slowing down over a longer distance, still good regen, lower setting but over longer distance and a lot more than no regen.
How does that work? I thought it looked at the vehicle immediately in front.?When I use ACC tend to adjust the set speed as a consequence of looking further ahead than the vehicle ahead of me. This reduces the chance of sharp changes in speed.
? Easier to lift off IMHO, no ACC.It does. But by reducing the ACC speed setting manually (1mph decrements) after looking ahead prior to the ACC reducing the actual speed means the speed reduction is not so severe when the gap begins to close.
Yup I’ve noticed this too. You can also feel it when in eco mode you switch on OPD. A definite drag feeling. I find OPD in eco mode quite lumpy. It would be nice to know exactly what’s going on so that I can drive with knowledge rather than poking and hoping ?When changing from regen 3 to 1 whilst on the move on partial throttle you can actually feel a very short slight surge. It almost implies that there is a very slight drag due to regen on a part open throttle all the time ?.
Nope, mine came with R05 when it was delivered in Sept last year, it's been back for both the One Pedal and the braking updates and that part never changes.Question for AU/NZ Excite 51 owners... has anyone received an update later than R05?
Or alternatively any other update that fixes the issue where the left star button on the steering wheel forgets its setting (and the one on the right always open CarPlay in addition to whatever it's set to open)?
In Europe, the slowing in curves and bends are cured by an acc update. Shame they do not hurry up down under..Currently I’m not able to use ACC. I thought I’d sorted the issue of sudden slowing by turning the settings to ‘Alert Only’ (No AEB). But alas this mornings run out with the pooch resulted in sharp slowing down from 80kph to 60kph. Just after a curve in the road heading in a straight line, between well marked lanes. Maybe it was the cement truck coming the other way, that scared it. Anyway…. The pooch was strapped in, as per common sense and Queensland regs, and there was no one half asleep behind us.
Definitely unusable in my area.
It’s a shame you can’t as a user, choose which items are under the ‘Unswitchoffable’ AEB and which are not.
Yes, and annoyingly they have released that same update months ago in Australia… but only for the Essence (I think that’s the ‘Trophy’ in Europe/UK?) and not for the Excite (SE SR) ?In Europe, the slowing in curves and bends are cured by an acc update. Shame they do not hurry up down under..
Same with the star button btw.
How do I find out the latest update number/version with improved ACC for the Essence? I've got a tailgate warranty issue being sorted in a couple of weeks. I could get it checked then.Yes, and annoyingly they have released that same update months ago in Australia… but only for the Essence (I think that’s the ‘Trophy’ in Europe/UK?) and not for the Excite (SE SR) ?
Oh that’s annoying. I definitely have the ‘toggle’ thing. In the UK this was fixed under update SCUK001, but I've no idea what the equivalent AUS update would be. It is not however linked to the Infotainment version (although they may apply such an update at the same time).
You know if you have the ACC update as a single toggle up/down of the left joystick changes the speed by 1 rather than 5 (mph/kph).
Oops, sorry had a brainfart there with my reply - I meant although I have the ACC update, I don’t have the Star Button fixes. How do I find out the latest update number/version with improved ACC for the Essence? My 51 got that update last time it was in, while they also did the undertray support.Yes, and annoyingly they have released that same update months ago in Australia… but only for the Essence (I think that’s the ‘Trophy’ in Europe/UK?) and not for the Excite (SE SR) ?
I got the ACC/AEB and Undertray fix too, so at least no dramas with that…. But yeah the star buttons and CarPlay occasionally switching to LHD mode (which is read from the head unit and not controlled by CarPlay) surely would be easier fixes, which is what makes it so frustrating putting up with them ?My 51 got that update last time it was in, while they also did the undertray support.
I've heard it referred to as the AEB update.
