350 miles a week mainly motorway. Is EV a good idea?

It will be fine.

Charging from home on a 8.5p kWh deal means you save arm fulls of cash every year on fuel costs.

I've driven my SR all kinds of distances without drama.
Thank you, but it’s going back. I’m not happy with the attitude of the dealer. They want it back and don’t want to come up with a sensible solution for me to keep so I’ll get my money back.

Understand - they did a poor job of making you aware of what car it was to start with so can't blame you.

They tried arguing with me today that it was a long range, even when presented with all the evidence. But, the search will be on tomorrow for something new. Perhaps actually a long range ZS like I wanted in the first place :)

going back to ICE because electricity is going to cost a fortune?
I’m not quite sure why you’re trying to be so antagonistic, but I’ve not said that I’m not going to stick with electric. I’ve said in numerous posts my issue is the size of the battery as it’s not what I was sold it as and also the attitude of the dealer. I think you’re making presumptions that because I’m handing back I’m going to go back to diesel. My questions were about charging in the winter etc. Clearly you have some strong opinions and this post has clearly tripped you off, so it might be best to not engage any further.
I hope you have a very enjoyable day.

If it helps, I've had a 2022 Long range ZS EV Trophy from new and am very happy with it. Even in winter & motorway I find I can reason on 200 miles range in one go, so 50 miles per day will defo be no problem. Also going for LR migh 'future proof' any degradation, although as the chemistry is NMC, not LFP, it's suggested to charge only 80% in normal/everyday situations (100% for long journeys).
Enjoy your shopping ?

Thank you! I do like the car, I’m just not happy with the dealer and the way they’ve handled things and it doesn’t fill me with confidence about any future dealings with them. So it’s going back and I am definitely enjoying my shopping :)
Thank you!

So that’s the car back with the dealer and my money returned.

My new MG ZS Trophy Connect LONG RANGE (been completely 100% confirmed this time!) is on its way and should be with me in the next week.

What a palaver, but there is light at the end of the tunnel now. I really liked the car, but wanted the long range which is why I’ve now bought what I originally wanted.

Put it this way - you had a freebie extended test drive (with a bit of a hassle but you are now ready to enjoy the new one !)?
Congratulations !!!

with the new one - straight to the nearest open Tesla charger to see if you can charge there and if it doesn't work, back to the dealer to fix it.
Read about it on this forum.
Not that it's crucial to have Tesla working but you might sometimes need it and better to fix it when brand new ...

As Fred12345 says, check it on a Tesla supercharger, and that the iSmart app isn't bound to another car.

Well she has arrived! Picked her up this evening. Added bonus of a sunroof which I didn’t know I was getting. Car was first registered in Feb this year, it’s got less than 500 miles on it and it 100% is a long range!
Happy to still be part of the ZS club, thanks for everyone who came along with this whirlwind of a ride!

Welcome to the club... did you manage to make sure it had the tesla software updates already completed?
Never know when in the future you might like to use them & often cheapest available rapid chargers (in UK anyway).

I’ve not yet as the local ones near me have not been finished installing. I need to find out where the next closest ones are and I’ll do it then. I’ve got a hectic couple of weeks coming up and won’t actually be doing much driving so it’ll be after that.
