Absolutely brilliant car!!

And brace yourself for an impressive charging speed. I had a 50kw max charge rate for 4 years with my last car, so always had to think about something ( or nothing) to do whilst charging. MG4/Tesla if I go to do something have to keep an eye in the app so I don't incur an idle charge. You have to move it once charged or else!!. It's pleasantly fast though ( and cheap ) ??
Oh, thanks again. We would need to change our usual charging routine if that's the case, understandable though that is. Over the last year of having Goth Leo, we have enjoyed putting him on charge then going off to do Something Useful. But we tend not to just leave him on charge unless we're balance charging, and that's only on slow chargers.

Apologies but this is "as it occurs"...
Another thing I found was that when I first loaded the app it didn't look like there were a lot of chargers available.
Fairly soon after there were. So, either they suddenly added a lot and opened them up to Joe Public , or ( and this is the one I'm going for), it took a while to populate.
Don't just open it and assume there's not many available. Leave it open at home on your wifi and give it plenty of time to populate in advance if needing to use it f'real ?
it may help

Probably worth paying for a month of subscription for the Tesla chargers - think it's £8.99 and reduces the price by about 10p/kWh so if you're doing a trip it will pay for itself.

so where's the naughty words list, is it different for aussies?
Just watch an episode of "The Thick of it" - You'll hear most of them.

Tesla opened another 20 sites on the same day a month or so ago, boosting from 20-ish to 42(!). Maybe that's what you encountered

And finally (promise)
Registering your vehicle in the app lets it know you are a non-tesla user and will, as I said earlier, only show chargers open to non-tesla users.
Good luck. Hope it all goes well ??
No need for this.
The app can see your Tesla account has no car against it, so only shows public chargers.

Will I be able to write about a day trip to that charging desert Scunthorpe? That use to be obscured on a football forum I was on: most inconvenient..

Oh, you are in for a surprise. Given that Goth Leo can charge at three times the speed you're used to, don't get too comfortable.
Second stop of the trip in Perth, and yes, everything worked incredibly well. except a little glitch at the beginning where we realised the cables were quite short, so we had to almost ride the bump stop (makes one assume all Tesla drivers drive by Braille...!). Thanks to @DaevM for the giving us the confidence to give this a whirl. Very cheap in comparison to what we're used to in the rip-off Highland Council area, and, wow, what speed. I did notice the charging speed dropped off markedly as it got over 70%. I assume that's normal.
Yet again, we've done the A9, in the increasingly heavy traffic we're seeing over the last few years. A combination of cruise control and the way the car follows slower traffic automagically, along with the lower noise levels make it as close to a relaxed drive as is possible.

You're more than welcome ?
Glad to hear it went so well.
Yup, cables are short. Just be grateful your charging port's in the right place ?.
Charge speed drops off to protect battery and encourage you to get the hell out of Dodge and allow others in... but mostly to protect the battery.

I'm sensing copyright infringement.:D but don't worry , this will most likely be deleted.:(

I did the opposite at Annandale Water. It's barely 50 miles from home, but I was hungry. Arrived on 4%.

There were six 350 kw Gridserves with a couple vacant, but I connected to the single old 50 kw plug, which was free. That slowed the charge down enough for me to grab a McDonald's and go to the loo, and leave on less than 50%.

There, I've said it. 'tis a brilliant car 'n' I loves it ??.

Having just completed my 2nd 500+ mile round trip, this one in a little over 24 hours with a fair bit of business including a guerrilla funeral and wake (not the animal!!) , I gotta say, despite having to deal with ridiculously heavy rain and Bank Holiday/half term traffic, it was absolutely faultless (touch huge wood!!) and a pleasure to drive. Got home ache free and not knack'd, having had lots of fun.
A couple of Tesla charges either way, again what a revelation after 5 years 50kW CHAdeMo'ing it!!

Anyone considering one, go for it. I may just be extraordinarily lucky, but in my view, an absolutely brilliant car ??.

Disclaimer: only had it 3 months and about 1500 miles, but all good so far and haven't had to deal with MG directly.
Love mine too, far from perfect but so so good!

I'd charged mine up to 100% after returning from my trip. Left it in the garage for 3 days then thought I need to lose some electrons for the battery's wellbeing and it'll be another couple of days before I'm using it. Took it out and used 10%+ 50/50 dual carriageway and country lanes and came back with the biggest smile and sense of enjoyment - love it, just wish I was driving it more often ?♥️
