They're not plastic, they're metal. But they're just covers and several people have removed them - either entirely, or in order to paint them a different colour and replace them. I'm not sure which threads this is described in, but you could do a search on "calliper" maybe.

I really don't see the problem with those Caliper covers, but each to there own. ??

Are the orange bits just plastic covers? I just ordered an Xpower in white on a lease and was thinking how I could get rid of those nasty orange callipers..

Appreciate any pointers how best to achieve this.

As posted above plus also see my Post #21 in this same thread at the top of page 2 ?

1. Remove black plastic wheel nut covers and remove wheel - no wheel locking nuts from MG !!
2. Unscrew cover screws with hex key / alum key
3. Remove orange cover and keep screws safe.
4. Put back wheel and repeat on other wheels untill all covers removed.
5. Remove rubber grommets in screw holes and keep safe
6. Sand down the orange covers to get any new paint to key in and bind
7. Apply 4 or 5 thin coats of caliper paint (about 20 mins apart if warm)
8. Apply 2 or 3 thin coats of clear coat lacquer
9. Leave to dry overnight
10. Put back on in reverse order - rubber grommets first. I applied copperease on the screws as mine were stiff to unscrew.

Jacking points are as per Coopers thread.

I used these paints but you may want to PlastiDip ?
