Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

Leave it blank, it's not necessary.
For SIPS version, watch out : you need to use the last version or at lease one of last version (1.0.2.5 013 or 1.0.2.5).
When you bought access from MRI, there's a software section to download an updated version.

Don't do anything you're not sure or you're going to brick your car...
Thank you, I've now successfully created a company account, and checked my SIPS version - 1.0.2.3. I'll update it when I buy some time.

So it seems we need to have an Digidentity to access Download area to get the latest SIPS software.
It is not possible or am i missing something? Is somebody able to download this from the site and provide it? I don't have Digidentity as I do not have a real company to be verified.
Nevermind, i already got 1.0.2.5.

So i tried SIPS for the first time with the VNCI VDI3 (arrived today) and tried a one hour session.
During Vehicle identification i get lots of error Messages in the car as expected, but it seems during identification connection to VCI (USB) gets lost and i only can see half of the Versions identified.
A ReRead does not work.
SIPS asked during startup for the VDI Device, i selected the middle (VDI-II).

Is this the correct Device selected or am I missing something?

Here is the selection SIPS provided - VCI Connection in manager is OK.

I may have found a possible solution.
The VNCI (VDI3) Adapter was delivered with an old firmware 1001 and with the help of the VNCI manager I was able to update this Version to 1006. I will give it a try on the weekend and see if the connection is stable now.
During some testing i also found out when installing SIPS, a network config tabs opens and wants to configure the Network interface.

Please do not select the VNCI (it appears as a Network Adapter when connected) for configuration, as this will break the possibility to connect to VNCI & VCI Manager as it reconfigures network connection. I had to reinstall my testing Notebook to get it working again :).

Strangely SIPS install will not show any Adapter when connection via WiFi, only wired ethernet Adapter connected. Is this relevant for function?

So only question would remain which Adapter (see Image obove) needs to be selected, or do you even get a possibility to choose?

So i was able to do the Updating (changed Notebook as well) and finally got access to SIPS and did R63 (USB+SIPS), TBOX (USB+SIPS) and HVAC. This went smoothly without any issues.

Unfortunately i did try to update FVCM for LKA which did not succeed, ended with unknown error. Today I will try with a recommend method (Replace thanks to @haloweenhamster ) to get this hopefuly working again.
Right now no LKA, TJA, ACC, EB for me ;).
This time i will attach a charger to the 12V Battery, even when SIPS showed that 13.6V (which means DC/DC active) were applied. Could also be that some Systems went to sleep, did this update after the previoulsy mentioned. Wish me luck :D.

Hi, after R63 update, what should i do at sips in order to activate the charge level bar?

After install to R63 via USB do a factory Reset of the Infotainment.

In SIPS you can do one Press update for the FICM Module.. so in one Press Menü select the FICM and this will Update the components.

Hi everyone,

Today I finally received my VDI and managed to apply some updates to my MG4 SE, like HVAC and FICM. I recall reading that updating HVAC and FICM to R38 should allow temperature adjustments in 0.5°C increments, but I’m still seeing 1°C steps. Has anyone experienced the same?

I also attempted to update the CCU to resolve the charging LED issue, but I kept getting an error. Has anyone successfully updated the CCU? Does it need to be updated alongside something else?

Thanks for any insights!

Has anyone figured out where we need to go using VDS (I presume) to access the overall battery SOH and individual cell pack info?
Using the Vehicle Diagnostic System (VDS), I conducted a complete scan of the car. The system retrieved all stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and generated a comprehensive report with information from all vehicle modules. For example, in the FDR module, I found a record of the most recent emergency braking event, which included the exact date, time, and speed of the vehicle.

You're conflating two separate things ... 1100R33 on the SE showed the external temperature indication in 0.5°C increments; the HVAC controls have always been in 1°C increments. 1100R38 reverted the external temperature indication to 1°C increments but made no increment changes to HVAC ... what it does introduce (alongside the HVAC update) is to tweak the HVAC temperature range so that setting a specific target temperature relates more to cabin temperature rather than air temperature at the vents. i.e. previously I would set the target to about 25°C to achieve a comfortable cabin - now I set it to 22°C to achieve the same feel.

So finally I was able to do the updates and the previously (failed) FVCM did succeed after 4 attempts (total 2 hours) with the replace function. Only IPK (Driver Display) is still open, as it may take much time to update. One positive sidenote: When you purchase a one hour ticket, you can still use SIPS when time is up if you stay logged in.

What interface would you guys recommend off aliexpress? Any links?

Any differences between different versions?
On AliExpress, you can find both the original interface:SAIC VDI 3 , as well as a non-original VNCI:VNCI VDI3 per Rongwei MG Wuling Baojun

I bought the VNCI, and in the tests I conducted, including some programming, it worked perfectly and was recognized as original by the VCI Manager.

The only thing is that when it arrives, you need to update the firmware. Just connect it via USB to the computer, open the VNCI Manager program found on the drive, and it updates in 2 minutes.

Edit: For the original SAIC VDI 3 on AliExpress, when you open the link, it may automatically select the cheaper option, which is just the program. Be careful to manually choose the VDI set from the available options.

The VDI3 available to buy will be clones so it's whether you want a clone that looks like a proper one for a high price or one that acts like a proper one but looks different for a cheaper price

Originally I tried to buy a clone but each time the order got cancelled & refunded so I ended up with a vnci which has been fine for me

So far I've only seen comments from people that have bought a vnci

Thank you! Price seems reasonable enough.
