How do you disconnect after charging ? I cannot find any information and it doesn’t seem to disconnect unless I take out the plug in my house first
Are we talking original first Gen ZS EV or the new face lift model ?.How do you disconnect after charging ? I cannot find any information and it doesn’t seem to disconnect unless I take out the plug in my house first
It is the new one. I cannot find an unlock button anywhere, can you advise ?Are we talking original first Gen ZS EV or the new face lift model ?.
I suspect the original ZS EV myself ?.
If so, then no App.
We are talking charging with the "Granny" unit here of course - right ?.
If so, you should be able to stop the charge by pressing the unlock button on the on the remote fob, then wait for the whir sound of the cable unlocking.
As soon as you hear this sound, remove the the cable or it will re-lock again into the charging port again.
Now turn off the power supply to the Granny lead.
Done.

Is this true?If it's not full you have to stop the charge in the battery menu on the screen.
It will only disconnect on unlocking the car if it's reached the state of charge you've specified.
Is this true?
If it is, then thats quite a PITA. My old BMW hybrid used to "interrupt" and unlock the charge cable whenever the vehicle was unlocked... I'm not going to like having to get in the car to faff about with the infotainment unit everytime I have gone out somewhere to get a cheeky bit of free electricity.
Can you stop the charge in the app ?Yes it is true and yes, you are.
Switching off is no different to charges that are on timers I really don't think this will be a problemSwitching off the charger before the car's inverter has shut down may cause a spike which can end up with a visit to the dealership to have a new inverter fitted.![]()
But switching off via mains timers IS a problem. I highly don't recommend it. Unless the timer disconnects the pilot signal, rather than just chopping off the AC.Switching off is no different to charges that are on timers I really don't think this will be a problem
Timers in chargers use the Control Pilot Signal to stop the charge via the vehicle BMS. Honestly, do not just switch off the charger from the mains.Switching off is no different to charges that are on timers I really don't think this will be a problem
Can you stop the charge in the app ?
n the Home Screen, , just above the display with the percentage charge, press it. Towards the bottom of the sceen press finish charging. Adjacent to that, press the padlock if not already unlocked. How do you disconnect after charging ?
