Help Please MG4 Xpower (paintwork issue)

I have raised a case against MG for manufacturing paintwork defect to my MG4 that's going through The Motor Ombudsman process at present. There should be a ruling in the next 3 months...

I’ve just touched up 10 or so stone chips on mine (White). I do feel the paint is thin and brittle as these aren’t the first chips I’ve touched up on the bonnet.
Best advice, and something I’m seriously considering, is to 3M clear vinyl wrap the front and wheel arches.

Don't particularly think it's the paint thickness. Unfortunately stone chips are inevitable ?

I've now found a couple of stone chips on my offside wing. That's it. In 18 months and over 14,000 miles.
We have a couple. 15m and 11K.

One on the leading edge of the bonnet and one on a door.
That's pretty good, only 2. With those ages and milage. ??

Think it was @Macadoodle who may have mentioned the paintwork. Being pretty soft and not appearing to have a lot of primer under it, at least I'm sure it was him! Spoke up chips on his roof starting to show signs of rusting already

If you keep some kind of wax or sealant on the paint or use a shampoo like Bilt Hamber Auto wash that has rust inhibitors in it this will help stop them rusting.

I use their Snowfoam prewash, Touchless which is also anti corrosive.

The point is though mate that more than one person has commented on the paint appearing quite soft and at risk of chipping easier than would normally be the case.
Cheers for the product recommendation though, I'm not overly bothered about looking after the MG4 though, it's the wife's company car and I don't really rate it (too many glitches/annoyances) and the quality of materials used in places is quite poor.

Drives fine though but so do a lot of EVs my own one included.

It is an interesting one, over on the detailing forums the paint correctors generally say the Japanese cars have softest paint of any, German cars the hardest.

Difficult one to answer definitively as mine has also not suffered too badly. Certainly no worse than others cars I’ve had. I do keep keep a good distance away when following other cars (until overtake opportunity ?). Best to have some touch up ready and if you are into detailing you can then wet sand and polish them for a perfect finish.

Makes sense. Had a Mitsubishi Outlander hybrid up to a couple of years ago and whilst didn't have too big an issue with stone chips found that the paint scratched incredibly easily, particularly around the door handles etc. Someone else in the family also had one and made similar comments vs experience with other cars.
