Says the same guy who floors it and comments about the car limiting top speed?![]()
Haha well yeah OBVIOUSLY I don’t expect much when I’m doing that.
But I’m not doing that ALL the time

You should see the size of the range I caught the other day… was massive… but then it got away…. ???Excuse the stereotype comment
Perhaps you got the MG4 special version for Aberdonians and Yorkshireman...doesn't want to give away full range, speed and miles per kw without a large lump of reluctance...
Haven't needed to try often enough for a full picture but i tried it for 20 odd minutes last week and noticed the miles per kwh was definitely better from the off but it does obvs use battery before you get moving. My presumption is when on some mornings i make a short dash to station of 1-2 miles and get 2 miles per kwh its probably not worth me worrying too much about preheating but over a longer trip the benefits start to kick in. Still learning though! What about battery preheating? Has anyone been trying that?
It’s maybe that us Scots and Yorkshiremen have things called ‘hills’, not the vast swathes of flatness that is Shroplinchampshire or whatever they’re called.Excuse the stereotype comment

I am driving my MG4 trophy in NORMAL mode, with Strong regen, and am averaging about 3.2 miles/kw. My rule of thumb is that I will get 2 miles for each 1% of battery level.Just thought to open up this thread to discuss the range of MG4 cars.
Anyone noticed that MG4 range is significantly down. I have MG4 Trophy and its only showing 220miles after 100% charge. Anyone experiencing similar issue?
If anyone know settings which will increase the range, please reply.
Many Thanks
Yep. They both seem to have a lower limit. It definitely doesn't show anything below 2 mi/kWh.I’m getting conflicting and baffling range readouts in my car today.
It’s saying I’m getting 2mpkwh, not budging from that with a reset.
Yet the ‘miles to empty’ is saying nearly 190 miles with 90% charge, in an SE SR!
Clearly the latter is incorrect.
4 mpkWh would give 171 miles range from 84% battery.
0.84 x 50.8 = 42.672 kWh
171 / 42.672 = 4.007 miles per kWh
The GOM that says 171 miles from 84%, or the driver display that won’t budge from 2mpkwh….
It's like the leaf GOM all over again. That was always wildly optimistic.
So at 70mph you should expect 3 mi/kWh. If you have 60% left you could go 30*3= 90 miles
This is where experience is key. It was only an example. Once we've all had the cars for a few months we'll all have a better idea about what to expect mi/kWh wise for a given journey. You can expect whatever figure you like, but in the MG4 it seems not to deliver it once you have losses from heating etc, particularly on short journeys. * The biggest loss from heating is warming the car up at the start of the journey so the average should improve over the journey.
My experience was that 150 miles would be possible to 0% at 70 without heating in ~10C wet weather. But who goes to 0% except in emergencies? So in reality you got closer to 120 miles unless you slowed down.
