Yes it would be convenient. But the history with MGs (including the 4) is that cars can get bricked and while that is the case it is far better if it happens at the dealer.Software updates have been using a hash to verify the integrity of the file. If anything is monidifed or missing a new hash is given and the update is not applied. This has been the case for years.
Im not being nelly negative but it would be nice to not to have ot go to the dealer to update bugs when lots of cars OTA update. Especially if they start charging.
