MG4 Software Update Thread

I had mine updated a couple weeks ago and they said they had the next version on their system, but hadn’t been released yet, so it’s definitely likely

Once it's updated, I'll feed back.

iSmart won't connect to my car at the moment. The problem seems to be the data comms between the car and MG's servers. (I tried the manual Update mechanism in the car and it gave a message about failing to connect - normally it says that there are no updates or something like that).

I've had problems trying to connect for a few weeks now. Just given up tbh.

Just another 'thing' on top of all the other annoying 'things' were supposed to live with!

Still nothing on mine. Deleted app, downloaded V2.0.3, still stuck in Bind screen. Sick of it now.

Did you buy from a dealer? If so and they are a decent dealer they should want to help you.

Been back to dealers (Morecambe) for a 'SIPS' update. Remains at R59, but still no 1 mph cruise increase. Climate control still FUBAR, and app wont bind. On top of that sat nav no longer works (it worked prior to R59 update and licence screen consent/dont consent, didnt resolve), and they told me they cant fix it as MG dont own it and is 3rd party. Now want shot of it and emailed lease company. Its cheap for a reason!!!! Buy cheap, buy twice!!

Did you buy from a dealer? If so and they are a decent dealer they should want to help you.

No, lease through work. Emailed them this morning that I want rid. See what they say. Dealer been ok, but they keep telling me the AC issue is fixed, when it clearly isnt. as for the satnav issue, they washed hands as its not MG< even though it did work before the R59 update!

The 1mph increment thing isn't an infotainment update. They didn't update my infotainment (much to my fury) but I did get the 1mph increments.

It's your dealer that's the problem, I suggest you go elsewhere. The 1mph increments is nothing to do with R59 or any other infotainment update . It is car module update , I know this as I now have the 1mph increments but have not had infotainment update, still on R33. To say the sat nav is nothing to do with MG is ridiculous, it's a factory fitted unit and all the software is also part of the car. A good dealer would want to ensure you have a good experience with the car as it encourages you to come back to use them in the future. Is there another dealer , hopefully with a good reputation with reviews to back it up that you could try ? Explain that your current dealer have been useless and you need help with the car as at the moment you would not consider another MG . There must be a decent dealer somewhere for you.

At my Trophy's first service the dealer only applied SC001UK. The 1mph increment is there and I think the car remembers the ACC distance setting or it defaults to minimum now; I will have to check. The info version remained the same.

I don't use Bluetooth but the car connects to my MOTO phone unless I start driving before the info system has fully booted; then it asks to pair again.

This thing that the car remembers the ACC distance is interesting (in my case it would be fine even if it always remained at idle)

Yes ... ACC distance remembers the last setting (1, 2 or 3 bars). Previously it would always default to 3 bars.

Yes ... SCUK001 was the update in the UK; I don't know what updates the EU models get.

Ok. Something I would like to share after the latest update I received in May. It is about the lane assist systems and the audio signal.
This week I disabled the audio signal for the first time. Yes, first time...
My goodness, that helped a lot!

Before that, any beep freaked me out somewhat. It caused annoyance, probably because of the many false positives I experienced before. But without this signal, the annoyance is gone. And by reverting to LDA (less corrections) in low sensitivity mode I can actually live with it.

Yes ... SCUK001 was the update in the UK; I don't know what updates the EU models get.

Mine's done that since the Australian AEB update so i'm guessing that's the same thing as SCUK001.

Some news from MG Netherlands. The release of R59 package is again halted because Amazon Music no longer works. They are waiting for a fix.
Is there anyone on this forum with R59 in the situation to test if Amazon Music indeed fails?

It's probably the same "problem" that exists on all versions: to use it you no longer need Amazon Music Prime, but Amazon Music Unlimited

The fact that the MG guy explicitely mentioned 'Music' and not Prime suggests it may be something different.

I guess that since "Play Amazon Music" is in the brochure, MG could potentially be sued if they don't supply it.
