Umm my buttons worked but I thought I best finish the update
I've now installed a lower version
Probably best to check SW P/N is less than 68.4.3.0 before doing the second bit

Nope!! It’s still saying R40. I think that I’ve seen somewhere that in the Settings screen there is an EV charger(?) icon. I don’t have that. I think that I’m going to have to take it back.

Mine was 68.3.3.9 before and now 68.4.3.0

On the old version of the infotainment software if I turned on the demister or heater using the physical switches or the right star button the heating screen would disappear after a few seconds. On R59 the screen remains until I push the home screen button. Is this normal?

Not sure if we can class this as ‘normal’, but I have a 24 plate Xpower with R59 and mine stays on until the home button is pressed also.

With regards to over air software updates. My garage had to highlight problems with screen freezing and dropping bluetooth as reasons for the update to R59, which is then at MG's cost. Hopefully with Mg getting hit by the customers software update costs they will be encouraged to get overair updates working ASAP.

Any chance you could send me a pic of the swipe down screen with the shortcuts on it. I’m supposed to have R59, but there no disable LKA button, or EV Route on second Home Screen (sweep left). I don’t think R59 has installed. Thanks.

Not sure if we can class this as ‘normal’, but I have a 24 plate Xpower with R59 and mine stays on until the home button is pressed also.

Mine has always done that, being an SE, and cancelling the screen is second nature.

When changing from regen 3 to 1 whilst on the move on partial throttle you can actually feel a very short slight surge. It almost implies that there is a very slight drag due to regen on a part open throttle all the time ?.

Nah, what you noticed is the regen/accelerate curve change: regen 3 has a wider more aggressive curve than 1: when power is 0, power is 0

True ... but it feels like the reins have been released. Sit at a partial throttle (small positive power) and change regen to 1 and the car will slightly accelerate.

Interesting you mention that the MG techs may also be missing a step, I can easily believe it, especially after an interaction with a supposed MG tech on Facebook today

Hope you're enjoying the newer version, main reason I wanted it was for the top bar when using android auto for HVAC etc

Sorry - I might have missed something but are you using OTA as it is enabled in your regions or is there some cunning way to get the update files, hit "engineer mode" and then upgrade ourselves? Probably getting overexcited ;-) I'm in UK.

Some R46 files leaked a few months back, only just got around to actually trying them

No OTA, MG tech left an update USB stick in someone's car so a few of us have looked at the contents & at least 2 of us have loaded the files to the car

Guys, it's time to implement a Ukrainian branch on the forum!

Every day I see a minimum of one MG4 in our Niko-city! And, 6 more of them waiting at out local dealer.

The dealer, by the way, is useless — they claim they don't "have access" to the fresh R59 firmware version here in Ukraine...

The dealer in Kyiv said me the same i`ll cry

I know the comment is a bit old but I did this update today from these files, I wanted R46 over R59 as android auto is said to work better
I tried it in the core86 folder but that didn't work but having the 2 files & AVN folder in the root worked

Could you share these flash USB files for community and maybe record the video of upgrade process?

Files are here, they say to use a 64GB stick formatted to FAT32 (have to download a program to do it, I used Rufus)
Tbh its just copying the folder & 2 files to the USB stick, plug in either front USB ports (A or C)
Enter eng mode
USB update
AVN then ECU
Doesn't take long
It's a full update so can be loaded over any version
Below is the ECU loading but looks the same as AVN

Software: is for a diagnostic interface to connect the car to a pc but you need a RMI account to access
RMI MG4: are the documents for maintenance & repair
RMI ZS: same but for the ZS
R46: one is a link to the original files (core86 folder) the other is a local copy, it's the R46 application software and 68.4.3.0 ICM ECU

Had my annual service in July on my 22 number plates Trophy. It says 1300R33 software which was last detected on 23.01.2023. As of yesterday the car decided to throw me a bunch of messages on the dash board: forward collission system unavailable, auto emergency breaking unavailable, rear drive assist unavailable, EPS performance reduced, stability control fault, traction control fault, autohold fault, hill hold unavailable. Looks like the software needs to be updated?

Did the display go off? If you hold the home button for 10s to reboot the display you get the same, so either the display rebooted or it lost communication to the can bus so the rest of the car couldn't see it

It might be worth cleaning the windscreen in front of the camera. A lot of those systems sound like they need the camera to work.

Also try charging the auxiliary (12V) battery overnight. If it gets low on charge, all sorts of bogus faults can come up.

MG4 Infotainment software does not contain Ukrainian localization and doubt they will do it but Android iSmart mobile app has Ukrainian language.

The latest version of Infotainment software is R46 in Europe and R59 in Britain.
Ukrainian market belongs to Europe region so max soft version available for us should be R46.
