MG4 X-Power Orders & Delivery

Elsie has returned and now all the windows work (did make the delivery guy twitchy when I accidentally pushed the rear window child lock and the buttons were disabled).

Had my first drive tonight and exhibiting a lot of the behaviours described in posts on this forum, auto high beam very sensitive, lane kill assist randomly intervening. Probably won't get a proper play until the weekend. Lots to learn, at least binding to the app was OK and can pre-condition the car which at temps close to zero is most welcome.

delivered at 720am this morning?had to wait for it to come light to take a photo ?

Well the EV6 has gone, a little sad as it was a good car which turned heads. However now the new journey begins, although when I messaged “Hi Baby” I didnt get a reply……I must stop going on those sites…….

Confirmed delivery yesterday for January 2, another for #TeamPebbleBlack (that's how it's called here in France anyway).

Caliper covers and all (accessible) rear badges coming off, plasti dip front badge black and entire rear light assembly smoke, and a bunch of Chinese goodies (floor mats, mud flaps, trunk mat, valve stem caps, door latch covers, and some things I'm forgetting). Hoping to get PPF installed on the front bumper, hood and mirrors but haven't booked it yet.

May change tires to Pilot Sport 4s after I test the bridgestones for a bit. I prefer staying on the road to saving some kw !

My first truly sporty car since my WRX in the USA almost 20 years ago. Can't wait for the first unsuspecting hot hatch to get a little too close behind ?

Congrats on your order ? .... if you get PPF done I'd also suggest the gloss black lower side sills and top of rear bumber - both are prone to easy scuffing !
Good call and thanks for the tip! PPF doesn't seem to be too popular here in France yet, and the prices are pretty high from what I've seen. I'll see what I can negotiate ?

Around 36-37 PSI all round for normal loads I believe.
36PSI all round on mine but mine are all Michellin Cross Climate 2 tyres compared to the OEM tyres which worked best at about 37PSI.
Have driven around 500 miles now on my Cross Climates and has certainly transformed the grip!!!

That's good to hear ?. How would you compare the ride / comfort / road noise to the OEM Bridgestones ? TIA

Cross Climate 2 currently have 10% off at Blackcircles therefore £762 fitted. However the Goodyear Vector 4 seasons are £672 fitted. Not compared other sites.

Tyres are always a big outlay, however I will get the Conti Premium Contact 7 for the summer as they got voted as "the best overall tyre" and runner up for "cabin noise" which may help the vibration.

On the Cross Climates in the dry I would say there is a slight increase in road noise but only very marginally more like another 1 notch up on the stereo if that helps describe it better :)
The comfort again is probably up by another 1 notch i.e. you deal feel the road bumps very very slightly more than with the original Bridgestones.
However, the ride quality and grip is just so much better it is really hard for me to describe but for any past Audi owners out there its like comparing a car with now a magnetic ride system added onto it or for those who may not have experienced one then its like having a BOSE system on your car ICE compared to a box standard one!!!
Q. Was it worth spending the additional outlay - Yes 100%
Q. Would I recommend these tyres to anyone else - Oh yes!

The other thing I would certainly recommend ( for all those music fans out there ) is upgrading all the stock speakers especially the tweeters along with some extra sound insulation within each of the doors - Then you have your very own BOSE type system all running from the OEM unit.

On one of my previous cars had the Goodyears fitted which I have to admit were extremely good but then I've also had the previous generation mark 1 Cross Climate tyres fitted and these had just the edge on the Goodyears as I felt the grip in the corners made a huge difference to me.
Lets just hope MG one day give us all MG4 owners the ability to permanently turn off that lovely LKA :)
