MG4 X-Power Orders & Delivery

Picked my XPower up today, many thanks to all who contributed to the various delivery checklists - it helped me immensely.

Everything worked as it should, and I didn't find any faults with the car (beyond some superficial tape/ adhesive left on the rims from transport, which was quickly removed while I signed my life away).

The 60 mile drive home was mostly subdued, but I did giggle a few times doing (driving) things I haven't been able to do in a car before. Push to pass... anything! More fun to come...

Personalization starts tomorrow with rear badge removal and black plasti dip aplenty!

Which colour have you gone for? Looking forward to seeing the plasti dip results as I'm fancying that for the front MG badge myself

I went with pebble black, and I have a lot of black plasti dip left over from my Niro EV that I planned to do the wheels on but ended up just doing the brake lights and electric blue trim.

Tentatively planning on doing the front badge, brake caliper covers, gray door stripes and rear light assembly (probably just the red and white vertical parts, I like the horizontal design of the red lights on the top).

I'll definitely post before and after pics of whatever I do...and this rear light assembly is huge so I may still need to get more cans lol.

So you are going to paint over your rear lights and indicators ? good luck with that.

For the Norwegian market, which usually is around 85% of new cars to be BEV, not many Xpowers are registered yet, only 9. Most are at MG dealerships, and are usually green. Might be just two which are delivered to private customers. Xpower was released later in the Norwegian market than in the UK. Xpower type MG4 SEH3 1eab4ei

Plasti dip isn't paint, it's a rubberized coating. For things you want to remain translucent, 2 or 3 light coats of black followed by another 2 of clear gives the light assembly a smoky black look but still allows the turn signals, brake lights etc to be clearly visible at all times of day.

Very curious as to how that’s gonna turn out. I look forward to seeing the results.

Here's how it turned out on the Kia, I imagine it will be similar...

ETTO ?... I do like slightly darkened plastic rear lights (ala Golf R as OEM) but I'm not that keen on the matt finish the Plastidip seems to give in that last photo. Just my opinion and I'm sure many will love them ??.

I cancelled my previous salary sacrifice order from August before it turned up, wanted to wait for the monthlies to drop a bit before committing.

Monthlies have now dropped by £50 p/m net, so I've placed a new order for a Racing Green. Dealer has one in stock sitting around, so it's being delivered next Friday morning! Exciting times

Oooo, I remember the early stages of my relationship.
All exciting and new, leading up to the big day!

Then the marriage itself, bit of a faff, but went off without a hitch, eventually.

Oh and don't get me started on the honeymoon!!

SO exciting!!!

Tried out lots of naughty things with my new and VERY eager partner......

I really did have to bring myself up to speed on "the modern ways" of doing things.

But I kept "Banging Away At Her"

I was exhausted.

And now nearly 5 months on...........

Has the magic started to fade..........???

Not Bloody Likely!!!

We are growing together as a couple and we experience all manner of things I never thought possible between Man and Machine. ♥️

I think you can probably get more of a satin/brilliant finish if you use more clear dip at the end, and of course if you treat it with some dressing to bring out the gloss. Also probably helps to be clean(er) lol. A film would be ideal but I've never tried my hand at that...

(also ETTO would be TETO for me, so that took me a few moments lol)
