MG4 X-Power Orders & Delivery

You've come to Wales, I bet your enjoying those launches, 0-20mph in 1.1 seconds ?
? Yeah the 20 limits are a little frustrating but to be honest it's nice to get a feel for the car and understand what everything does. Had its first charge today and then went for a drive in Snowdonia this evening where we literally ran out of road.

Great car though, really enjoying it so far. The only issue on delivery is the black strip above the air vents is marked. I thought it would wipe clean but appears to be under the clear coat.

My car arrives tomorrow and now I can't read any posts without hitting reply to everyone. ?

What if I need help or info from the forum, did someone do this on purpose to trick me? ?

There was a problem at the hosting provider, now fixed by Stuart, hopefully this is working again.

That arrived quickly. I hope you enjoy it. I've certainly been enjoying ours.

Public charging is a bit hit and miss though. Look forward to getting our own charger installed. Currently on holiday so no other option for us at present. Range isn't great but the overall output seems to show me achieving 5 miles per kWh.

I'm sure I will thanks, on my test drive my wife said I had a permanent grin on my face. ?

5 miles per kWh is more than I'd expect, is that your average since you got it?

Give us a quote over 200 miles.

You can achieve 20mi/kWh if you know how!

Mid 3's is the realistic figure for an X Power, whilst also enjoying some performance including having the AC on.

There is a thread on here somewhere with folk putting up their figures for 200 miles plus.

The real test. ?

Found it....

Yes it seems to be. I'll take a picture of the screen and post it here to make sure I'm reading it right. I'm taking it fairly steady with the odd blast every now and again.

I've driven it 100 yards so far, I'm right in the middle of rewiring for a new TV and sound system, bad planning on my part!

I went for racing green.

I have setup the audio based on recommendations from here, the sound isn't great until you fiddle with it, now it is.

I will be going out soon but can't drive too far, got too much on today sadly.

Need to order a few bits now, the black badge and wireless android auto dongle are first.

I'm in Cyprus. Well, in July the EU announced a 38.5% tariff on all MG EV cars. Mine was ordered and contract signed 4 months before that announcement. MG cancelled my car stating they weren't in a position to sell me the car at the agreed price. 2 weeks ago, the tariff was scrapped and my order was placed again, due to be provisionally delivered in February 2025. Even without the tariff scenario, my original order placed in March 2024 was slated for delivery in October/November 2024, so that's a 7-8 month lead time. I'm in no rush, maybe I get the interior 'facelifted' version, who knows. They did have a few Xpowers in stock back in March but not the colour I wanted.

One benefit here is that second hand cars hold their values very well, cars that are 10 years old are still more than 50-60% of the current new prices.

It's certainly a convo starter when you are out (more because it's matte than because it's green I think)

I like it, I guess it is a little marmite but I've never chosen a car or colour because someone else liked it........ well apart from the wife (Just in case she happens to read this) :)

Test drove the X-Power over a year ago. Was very impressed overall. Efficiency was a little concerning at 2.7mi/kWh on a nice warm summers day which meant a real world range of 170 miles or so. (So even worse range in winter) I hope this can be improved up.
I do not recall the ride being overly firm for our UK roads, but well judged overall. How is the car over speed bumps and broken tarmac? Did not take the test drive car in to any car parks etc with speed bumps. It is not too bone shaking I hope. My wife is seriously considering one and the lease deals on sites like leaseloco are very tempting at present. Her last ICE cars were a FN2 Civic Type R and an Audi S3. Currently been driving a Peugeot e-208 which we are both very happy with but almost 4 years old now.

We've had ours since Monday. I think the ride is absolutely fine, not too hard and is fine over speed bumps. As you've had a type r it won't be anywhere near as firm as that so if that was acceptable an X Power will be too.
