Radio module replacement

I had the Radio Module Disconnected error. I tried the DAB update files, but the error returned. Unit is now at Longbridge for testing as has now failed completely. Apparently there are a huge number of warranty claims to do with the infotainment. My local dealer couldn't give me an appointment until September.

I was told MG are not swapping modules any more, they have probably run out of them. Mine failed again on the way to Scotland so I disconnected the 12V battery for a few minutes.

Yeah mine has completely packed up. I had the radio module disconnected for about a year on and off. Tried updating dab files that worked for a while then it came back. This time the unit just keeps trying to re-boot every 45 seconds, disconnecting 12v makes no difference. Anyway it's at Longbridge let's see what the experts suggest this time..I'm not holding my breath based on previous experience!!

I installed the files and thought it has fixed it..was ok for a while and then problem came back. Now unit has packed up completely and at Longbridge for diagnosis. Just pointing out that updating the dab files does not always fix the problem.

It probably just needs DAB files installing
I have them if you need them
Hi i’m sorry to bother you and I know it’s kinda late now but i’m desperate about this situation and I really need the files for my MG ZS I would really appreciate if you could send it.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english it’s not my mother tongue

Just be aware that updating the files doesn't always solve the problem. I updated mine and the fault came back

I have had an interesting experience.

No problem ever with the radio disconnect problem since I have had the MG5 for over 2 years.

I recently went abroad and noticed my car clock had not updated. In looking I was on the time Autoupdate via GPS setting.

I changed to via DAB but didn't actually use DAB for another few days. When I did use DAB the clock updated straight away HOWEVER the next time I started the car I got the radio module initialising message for the first time ever.

As I was driving back to the UK 2 days later I chose not to disconnect the battery as advised on this forum until I got home.

Once home, I changed back to update to GPS and disconnected the battery for 5 mins.

DAB is back fully working and so far I have had no problems since using DAB lots when in the UK

I have the zip downloaded and on usb can anyone give me an idea how to download it once the usb is connected , I have opened engineering mode however the language is in Chinese and when I click on the DAB nothing happens
Thanks
