Price of electricity is high at present but it won't be forever. You can also supply partly by solar if you add that to your home. Let's be realistic, the price of petrol and diesel is never going to be under £1 a litre again.

I belong to a Ford transit forum and some ones fuel card price for diesel next week is
£1.85 ltr???
Also worries me as I’m a truck driver and if the boss says F it and shuts up shop I’m uggered

To be clearer:

• This isn’t definite, but it is being considered and I think it is likely due to the predictions of power cuts.
• It would be £10 a day for each day that you shifted your usage as proved by your smart meter (unavailable to those without or with meters not working).
• It would only apply on days they request people to shift usage, unknown how many this would be.
