If anyone is following mine, I still don't have my car back.

Fault first appeared 18th March. First into dealer 29th April. Back same day. Not fixed.

Back into dealer 9th May where it still is.

Have they diagnosed the fault yet?
They have.

It had software updates on 29th April. A new charger socket fitted 9th May. More updates applied on 14th May. CCU replacement authorised 15th May. Started fitting that on 17th May.

Their first CCU replacement so they won't finish it until close of play this coming Monday.

It's been a very slow process.

That is true from a dealer point of view. But all the delays between the activity has been down to MG themselves. MG must know what the fault is.

When it went in on 29th April and updates didn't fix it, the CCU should have been ordered then and fitted that week.

It's frustrating.

You're probably right.

They should try and identify the faulty batch of CCUs and organise proactive replacements. MG may even be able to recoup the cost from the CCU manufacturer. That would be a better customer experience too.

My car is back. The dealer fully charged to 100% and wanted it to balance charge. I kept an eye on the app and it took around 2 hours to do the balance. Presumably 2 months of dc only and never hitting 100 had some impact on the battery.

Regardless, it's fixed and the under tray is completely flat and flush. It wasn't before.

With that, the software updates and an apparently broken ring of lights around the charger socket (which they replaced), I've had a fair few things fixed.

I haven't yet charged it myself but I'll be interested to see if the car's charge limiter still works as I see others have said that has stopped after a replacement CCU, needing more updates.

Update;

My garage has seen one of these issues before so luckily I'm not the first.
I wrote all my issues down and left it on the passenger seat, they kept the car for 2 days for "updates", surprise surprise, it didn't work.
Ticket sent off to MG who have said it needs a new CCU. Estimating 7-10 working days for the part and one day to fit.
On the previous car that needed a CCU apparently the DC charging failed too?

That can happen but it seems rare, most people report DC charging continues to work, which mine did for the 4 months it took to fix it.

Good to know.
I was also pleasantly surprised with the charging rate I managed to get at a rapid charger, over 300A and 400V going through the cable! First time I’ve had to use them in over a year

Hi Folks so had my MG4 Trophy LR ( 150kW Trophy EV Long Range 64kWh) since November and had no issues other than the heated steering wheel not working and have always been able to charge............up until last week!

So my wife took it on a 'long' journey and had to fast charge it to get back home after a weekend away

Since then each time I go to charge it after 2/3 minutes on charge it stops - no warning nothing just stops

I thought that this may of been because a schedule had been set, so have tried that on and off and still happens -

I have tried different cables and different chargers - I am trying at home and work and even a super charger and still it turns off after a few minutes

I have tried to reset the console and still the same

I am using software R44 I believe without going out to check the car - I think that there is a new version out but need to attend an MG garage to get this.

If anyone else has any other ideas I could try I would more than welcome them before the battery gets too low that I cant get anywhere in it

Cheers for any help
