Me and the missus decided we needed some cheese, so went for a little jaunt up to Wensleydale to the creamery at Hawes.
We took the route out from Leeds, through Skipton, Grassington, then through tiny roads only just wide enough for the car, up mountains and down the other sides.
Conditions were ideal, started out at 19 and ended the day on 27 degrees.
All trips reset, drive mode set at Normal (for the whole day), and used flexible regen depending on the road, fingers on my left hand got plenty of exercise
.
Arrived at our first destination, the Wensleydale creamery. Bought some cheese (and other stuff) and eventually moved on to Aysgarth to have a look at the Falls. Arrived at the visitor centre car park, which had a sign that said FULL. Of course as a red blooded male I did not see this and proceeded to enter anyway. It was full - except for 2 charging bays. Hooray I have a parking spot.
Now we had only done 63 miles and I did not need a charge as I still had 115 !! remaining on the GOM, but felt obliged to buy some electrons. Anyway an hour and a half later it had added 8kW and 40 miles of range.
Headed off home on a faster (just) more direct route and didn't take too much care with economy.
Arrived home total 122.3 miles travelled, remaining on GOM 114. So 122 +114 - 40 for the involuntary top up gives 196 miles.
Now bearing in mind without the top up I would have had 74 remaining on the GOM, so only 89 miles lost on the GOM, I think on the day I could have got in excess of 200 miles in Normal.
(Oh and I did check after I got home, if I switched to Eco mode it gave me an extra 11 miles on the GOM.)
Massive amount of regen was gained on this journey, going down one long and steep hill towards Hawes added nearly 10 miles !!!, I had lost those though going up the hill beforehand.
