Ah OK, that is really not acceptable ?.
With the radio on, I can ignore it. Sometimes it's a bit more chill as well.Ah OK, that is really not acceptable ?.
Having asked, some have said it settled a bit with a Tyre change or wheel balance. Most have said it does not. Couple have reported it to perhaps be worsening.Car date 13 Nov 23. There is something slight in steering wheel over 64 mph until around 75mph.
It is slight and i think if you did not know about issue you would not pick up on it overly.
Question would be will it settle or get worse, i think i will probably log this with MG UK to be safe but all good otherwise.?
Yep, defo. ??So i am kind of officially in the club.
MG saying it's an acceptable characteristic reminds me of when Microsoft used to say "it's not a bug, it's a feature". Same mentality of: customer wrong, supplier right.Oh dear.
You have the same problem as a lot of us have been having.
The vibes MG think is an acceptable characteristic.
No it's bloody not MG.
Unbelievable.
@Doug C was a June 2023 build and zero vibes.
Just goes to show there doesn't appear to be a cut off date after which you can be assured of a vibe free car.
You have 30 days to reject it and unless you want to be severely messed about, you exercise that right.
If it's leased then they need to know asap.
Point them here.
MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph
From Lampymic in a PM this morning.... Today at 8:24 AM Morning Bricktop1967, Have you noticed any vibration, although vibration might be the wrong word possibly a buzzing sensation when reaching 68+ on the motorway? I really noticed it on Thursday on a quick trip down the M55, wondering if...www.mgevs.com
VIBRATION ISSUE - hot off the press!
First, a little recap. I got my Xpower in October 2023. Reported the vibration immediately. My dealership agreed there was a problem and put in a technical report to MG. Subsequently have trialled a steering wheel damper (failed). Wheels realigned and rebalanced (failed). Wheels COMPLETELY...www.mgevs.com
New X Power Vibe Poll.
So, as we all now know, the vibes felt in the car are real. And, as we all know, there is still no definitive repair/fix from MG despite many owners complaints on the matter. I wanted to find out from owners like me, who have had the vibes from new, and who are now either just living with it...www.mgevs.com
X Power Rejection.
Too Long Dont Read Warning. Morning folks! I've decided to join the class action and reject the car. In my opinion I should have got a new car at the start of my ownership with zero issues. I mean, not too much to expect was it? Silly me! I've been lucky enough to pick up several brand...www.mgevs.com
I have slight vibration but I only have it a 2 year lease so don't want to go down the rejection route but I would say all you owners keep on and go down the rejection route after following and reading all what's been going on it's an absolute nightmare and mg are an absolute bunch of tossers and if they carry on saying it's how the car is I hope they go bust I won't have another mg again
Reading this thread with interest and disappointment as I just got back from a test drive which seemed great and am now doing my due diligence. Complicated by the fact that I'm in France and the XPower is being withdrawn from sale here this year. The reason given is that they lost the eco grant because no part of the car is made in Europe, but I wonder now if that's really true. There are 12 new cars in the country left at £30,000 on the road, but my gut tells me to walk away.
I thought @Bricktop X PWR hit 300mph?Ive been trying to work out the real cut off date for the Vibrations, so far newest i know of is JAN 24. based on the leak Ti its feb 21st 2024 onwards that dont have the issue. Love to see if anyone has it ?
Tesla and Porsche had the issue early in the first releases of dual motor cars. For them it was motor controller software updates to correct the timing sync issue. Its a beat phase issue , insync and then out of sync. Mine comes and goes overy 3o seconds if you hold speed. Tyre pressure helps send vibes into road rather than car. My guess is MG cannot update the motor controllers. However i think this is a sensor placement issue, bad QC on motors. This then makes sense on the variation. Bad sensor readings and out of bounds of the inverters ability to adjust. Software is doing all the right things, sensors are out. Motor swap is probably the only way to fix, weird that it chose that speed, must be the point where the sensor reading needs quicker adjustment and it goes pear up. But why ok after 120kmh ? Shame the car doesnt go to 220kmh we might see a second vibe.
Not except for a couple of short bursts, my priority was ride quality on the sort of B roads that makes up much of my commute and trying out the warp speed giggle factor, which was how I got sucked in. I have a Toyota GR Supra for fun in the mountains at weekends but I didn't want too much of a slouch for a daily, there big tax breaks here for electric. New IC engined cars are almost extinct here already due to massive eco taxes, 50k plus. Shame I hadn't read this before, but I was suspicious to find that there are no new ones at all in my area and not one green one left in France. The dealer only had a couple of ex demos he could offer me. Moving on I've found there is just as much noise in France about the problems. Still thinking about going for a extended Range Luxury instead, but my confidence is low now and as cost is not really a defining issue, maybe I'll go higher end.I take it you never managed to exceed 100km/h?
Shame, as at that price it is a bargain.
(Assuming it doesn't vibe of course)
At least! ????I thought @Bricktop X PWR hit 300mph?
At least! ????
At that was at the end of the 1/4 mile drag stripI thought @Bricktop X PWR hit 300mph?
